Just such a laughably underwhelming pick. He'll be a solid 3rd liner and will probably be a NHLer. But why would you take a guy with minimal upside when you need all the skill you can get?

They should have taken Nischuskin last year, and now they pass on Barbashev. Fine by me.

It's just hilarious how bad Lou and Conte are at drafting these days after being so good years ago. It's incredible. I am convinced they are just stuck in the past.

Hags 6th round
Fast ditto
MZA

Miller knocking at the door

Lindberg
Skeij
McIlrath
Duclair in the pipe line.

There are and will be others. It's called scouting. I'd love some more 1st rounders, but we made the SCF. Not like we get there all that often.

We'll be fine.

I agree. We're young and have Henrik.

I'm worried that the kids get blocked. Sather has to stockpile again.

I want a puck rusher with a hard shot.

Are there any interesting center prospects still on the board?

Don't know if he lasts another 29 spots, but Brayden Point out of the dub is one. Best player on a really bad team for the last 2 years. Puts up points playing with scrubs.

Very small, but fast, skilled and willed. Boom or bust pick as his game at his size may not translate well to the pros. Not soft by any stretch, but some people might think Gilbert Brule with him, ie a kid that's too small to try and play like a slashing forward.

Great speed, high character.

I don't think they take a goalie with their first pick (I hope they don't). Too many areas that need to be addressed (yes I know whoever they take with their first pick likely won't play for them for 3-4 years). Goalie of the future can wait w/Lundqvist tied up for the next 7-8 years and still playing at a high level for the foreseeable future. I don't think anyone here thinks their goalie of the future is in their organization right now. Find a young goalie when Sather retires and they can start a rebuild.

Generally it takes 3-5 years post draft for a goalie to cement himself as an NHLer.

Draft a goalie now, and he'll be ready by the time Henrik is 35 or 36.

They drafted Richter a year prior to Beezer winning the Vezina.

It worked.

Anyone the rangers wanted are gone or about to be gone..that's what you get for trading your picks

If you know exactly who the Rangers want to pick, please post a list because I'm sure there are people on here who want to see it. Myself, included. Thanks

Plenty of great picks still available. Annoyed Ho-Sang is going to the Isles though. I know if he makes the NHL I'll despise him.
