I don't have him here. He went too early. Your point stands on my pool but it's still annoying as a fan. The guy has barely played all season, he finally gets to play against his peers and they're doing it to him here too.

Yep I took Yurov banking on his upside and posters in the Russia thread couldnt stop talking about how he was going to rip up this tournament now dude is like the 13th forward.

My team basically looks shot at this point. Guenther going from projected 1st liner to 4th liner. Yurov going from in some peoples minds someone who could potentially give you 8-10pts to now being lucky to get regular playing time. Askarov looking like a bigtime question mark in goal after that Canada game.

It will be interesting to see how Russia does in this tournament with their fans hyping up this group of players so much and even leaving off some players that were earlier projected to be important players for them.

Surprised Germany has more than 3x better odds than Austria. At least the Austrians have someone on their roster with an NHL future. I don't see Elias being enough to save them from relegation without Reichel, Stutzle or Peterka to help him.

Lambert was good that period.

His speed and explosiveness is obvious.

Hirvonen has good hands, thinks the game well and plays with great edge/intensity but his skating is average at best. He might need to get a little quicker if he's going to become a consistent NHL'er in a offensive role.

Lysell scratched against the Russians? What is Monten thinking? Is there anyone in international hockey who makes as many consistently awful lineup decisions?

Askarov looking like a horrible selection by me.

Early in the tournament and I know this doesnt effect someone's NHL career, but this guy has been underwhelming at this tournament for a guy who was insanely hyped up and someone a team spent a high first rounder on.

Great individual play by Edvinsson but I think you need your goalie to make that five hole save there.

Nashville most likely starting to sweat with this draft pick taking him in front of Jarvis/Lundell

He doesn't look any better at 19 than he did at 17. A little bit less jumpy, but that is it.

Sweden is not even dominating. It's a fairly even game. Russia has taken a few more bad penalties, but in general, the difference has been Askarov. The first goal was a nice shot with a nice screen, but the other two were terrible goals to give up and he just never looks like he is in position.

Askarov's U-18 performance in the Gold Medal game against Canada was one of the most impressive performances I have seen from a goalie prospect....ever I think. I was so so high on him but I just have not seen that goalie since.

Askarov has had a rough night for sure. I'm equally as disappointed with Khusnutdinov. Michkov looks fine but Khus has been a turnover machine and ineffective. He's making me look like a dummy for taking him at 19.

Great work by the refs tonight to give Canada the lead.

And Wright is the perfect 1st overall for the Habs.
