For the second year, we'll be doing our own WJC pool on the Leafs board using Canada4Gold's international thread format. The people that were in the pool last year will have first dibs on a spot: They will have until Sunday December 12th at 11:59 (I probably won't enforce that, but please get back to me) to decide whether they want to be in the pool again by either contacting me in this thread or through direct message. If you aren't in the pool and would like to join (only if someone from last year doesn't rejoin), you must be a member of HFLeafs (I was contacted by other teams fans last year), and you must be dedicated to making the draft go as quickly and smoothly as it did last year. The open spot(s) will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
Here were the final standings from last season:
[TBODY]
[/TBODY]Your team will consist of 6 forwards, 3 defenseman, and 1 goalie.
Here is the point format:
Goals - 1 point
Assists - 1 point
Wins - 2 points
Shutout - 1 point
Last year the draft order was done through a random name generator. I can either do that again, or I can make it so last place gets 1st, 1st place gets 10th, etc. I'm indifferent, so please let me know what you would prefer. The draft will go in snake format with a maximum of 12 hours to make your pick, so please be quick. If you miss the 12 hours you will be skipped and you'll make that selection whenever you show up and possibly lose the player you wanted in that spot. If you're going to miss your pick you can also send me a list of guys like a "queue" for me to select for you. It will be your duty to message the person after you make your pick so we can keep it moving as quickly as possible prior so we have time before the WJC. NO EDITING YOUR POSTS AFTER SENDING THEM. ONCE YOU HIT REPLY, PLEASE STICK WITH THAT PICK.
If your player gets injured/cut/covid prior to WJC, at the end of the draft we will have a "replacement draft" with selections going in the order of where the player was taken.
The draft will start sometime on Monday December 13th unless there is some unforeseen circumstances. Hopefully all teams have finalized their rosters and nothing big happens between then and the start of the WJC.
