The Hab's 3rd and 4th line, Where offense gets their feet trapped by cement named Anderson and Gallagher:(
theyre actually perfect for the 3rd line, but I dont see them sticking around when their contracts are up in 3 years... theyll do for now

I think he'll end Up on the second actually
I highly doubt that he outplays Newhook this season after getting 34P in 55GP, and now entering his 4th year. If he was on pace for 50P last season he'll surely improve on that playing with Dach and Laine now, most likely.

I've got a lot of guys before I'd consider Yager.

Luchanko
But
Molendyk
Bonk
Rehkopf
Kasper
Brindley
Bichsel
Doan

Nazar might fit somewhere in there, but Yager after.

I think that Newhook stays on 3rd line duty with Gallagher and Armia

I think the Yager/Molendyk argument is the easiest to make since they played so much head to head.

In the MJ/Blades series, both coaches seemed content to have Molendyk play against the Calvert/Yager/Firkus line (which really let Kovacevic cook, Blades second pairing could stop Savoie well but couldn't handle Kovacevic's speed).

Yager still managed 7pts, only 2 on the power play, and that line was incredibly dangerous throughout the series. Yager looked like the second best player in the ice for most of the series (Kovacevic looked so dangerous due to the matchups in some games, Siderov had his moments in a couple games too, Mateychuk took over at times).

Watching the full 7 games and the regular season matchups, I think it was pretty clear to see that Yager was a better player than Molendyk.

lets see yours.....
You aren't supposed to ask that question until after he buys you dinner.

I'll take that context seriously, thanks. I watched the series as well, but not as closely you did it seems. One thing I'll say is that Moose Jaw was so loaded that Saskatoon often had trouble getting out of their end, not a fair context to evaluate individuals. I tend to like Molendyk a little more than Yager because I think he's a more dynamic skater, he doesn't have the top speed but what he can do in small areas and with quickness is more impressive and more important to me.

It's kinda hilarious that Cowen went before Yager and yet there's an active thread called something like Cowen vs Yager where Yager has a ton more votes.

Mostly Leaf haters who are just voting for Yager out of spite in the other poll (on top of the Jets fans who suddenly love Yager). Plus here you have many more options, not just two. But the main reason is you change your vote in the other poll, and I guarantee MANY posters change when they see whos winning. Thats why I dont allow that option here.

But I dont see why its "hilarious" how the OHL reg season and playoff MVP beat out Yager. Both had similar stats, but Cowan playing in the better league, is a bit younger and heavier.... Care to tell us why Yager is that much better in your opinion?
