Add Josh Doan, took Ritchie again although at this point it could be any of 10 players.

Thought long and hard about Willander as I think he is going to be a top 4 Dman early in 25-26.

Doan was in. , but didn’t get many if any votes, so he’s out for this one.

Pretty weird for a guy that already had a really good track record in the AHL and NHL and projects as a really safe bet to be a solid NHL player.

Hmm, ask the OP to include him again then because you voted for him and he usually don't take out prospects that received votes.

I didn't vote for him as there are about 5 or 6 clear better choices and I took Ritchie but Doan easily will look better than almost all the top 5 or 6 choices next year and maybe a bit longer as well.

I'm confused... then why are you surprised he didn't receive any votes and was take off the list?

There are 14 guys getting votes this round and I'll basically guarantee you that Doan will have better nHL careers than half of them.

He is already a lock to be a top 6 forward for his team next year and projects really well.

Doan has been in at least 5-6 polls already and gets 0 or 1 vote.

As mentioned, I will rotate those guys. He will be re added sooner than later.

ok but I'm not talking about Doan. I'm talking about you finding it weird that he was removed from the voting options even though he didn't get any votes.

Yeah I know how you rotate them and it's perfectly fine. I was just confused by post #6, thought the poster was voting for Doan already but he was taken off the list suddenly

You took out Roy and replaced him by Mailloux?
IMO, Roy is the better of the two, and should go out soon
thats debatable..... but I want to stick a few Dmen in the opitons as there arent many left. I put Roy a few times already and got no votes

Mailloux isn't even a legit top 50 prospect at this point, his path to the NHL is blocked and he has issues that don't transfer well to the next level.

Even Roy at this point seems weird when Josh Doan is there to add or Bradley Nadeau.

He'll be rotated, but Mailloux finished 3rd in Dmen scoring (47P in 72GP) as a 20 year old rookie in the AHL, this on a crappy Laval team. In London OHL he had 25G 53P in 59GP and followed up with 24P 21GP in the playoffs..... The kid is also 6'3 220 lbs. Objectively, that alone is more proven than most of the Dmen left here.

Yes there are defensive questions about his game, but so do 80% of these defensive prospects. He may not be top 50 in the end, but hes certainly in that D tier of: Luneau, A.Jiricek, Solberg, Molendyk, Muk....

There are not many D prospects left as you can see too, as weve voted many in already (15 of 32 are Dmen!!).

I think that it's a bit early for Roy, but he should go up in the late 30s/early 40s

Have you missed when Mailloux played last year in the league?
As far as issues on ice goes, he's a bit green but with his offensive abilities and physical tools, he'll have a place on the roster

I take Roy over at least Nadeau, hands down

Are you talking about a single game for Mailloux at the end of the season in garbage time to determine anything?

Then Josh Doan is the better answer here one would think.

Mailloux is pretty much blocked by Guhle and Reinbacher and doesn't really have the usual skillset for a bottom pairing Dman and I doubt that he will have very much NHL sucess.

Meanwhile there are better and younger Dmen who project better thus my opinion.

As for Roy over Nadeau sure for next year maybe but as prospects go Nadeau would be much more desirable in any system.

Mailloux is really not blocked at all, LD is way deeper than RD organizationally and I don't think they intend to have Guhle there long term it's just been by necessity. Also disagree that he couldn't fit on a bottom pair, he's big and mean and great offensively, if he doesn't become a top 4 I don't see why he couldn't be a sheltered PP2 guy

Voted Bourque here feel he's shown the most

I'm surprised Shark fans haven't pushed for Mukhamadullin to be added to the poll, probably the 3rd best defenseman currently still left in the poll and "Add" list.

probably don't want to push for more of their players to be on the list after just getting one voted in. :thumbu:

Surprised Musty went ahead of either Cowan/Ritchie.

As a Sudbury native who's seen plenty of Musty, there's massive warts to his game. The slight (maybe) offensive edge he has over those two are completely dwarfed by the overall game/compete.
