In true idiosyncratic fashion, my top two at this point were guys from this draft who I was much higher on than most.

Michael Brandsegg Nygard
Carter Yakemchuk

I'd also have Musty, Cowan, and Simashev close behind those two.

Look at Oilers fans now pushing Matt Savoie, lol. He's at most around late 1st round value at the moment, he was a distant third or fourth even just among Moose Jaw players. You'd have to have Firkus voted in before Savoie.

Im high on MBN also, think he’s got a high floor, but I’d prob have musty before him(who I was high on his draft year), and i thjnk he’s got a solid floor with a sky high ceiling

There's such a demand for centers among NHL FOs I think you have to push them up the prospect rankings as a result. I'd be very surprised if Helenius didn't make the NHL, and given his age and production in the Liiga has potential to be an impact center.

Dvorsky is also interesting but his case is weakened a bit from playing on the same team as Musty, and Musty's results being so good.

Musty again, his D+1 kinda reminds me of Wyatt Johnston's breakout without the crazy playoffs. Same size too.

Musty is more of a hoss physically than Wyatt Johnston, really well built while Johnston is thin. Musty can make some devastating hits. But on the flip side he's physically disengaged a lot of the time. His battle level and consistency were questions in his draft year.

Great scoring tools though, I agree with you that he's due to be on the board. I'd have him pushing top 20.

Went with Savoie, but I think I should have gone instead with Eiserman

Scoring goals is a rare talent, and as long as Eiserman will have this talent, he will find work and get paid for it

His floor is Mike Hoffman IMO, but even Hoffman can find work in the NHL (at least, up to this point)

ASP way too low. I don't get de Mateychuk love but ASP falling.

Both smaller offensive-minded Ds, but ASP was so much better IMO at the U20s against the best in his age group than Mateychuk, while being a year younger.

Add to that he was D of the year in the frickin SHL in his D+1 while the other was still in the CHL in his D+2.

Anyways, I think ASP should have been picked a long time ago.

Seamus Casey? Not even on the list? good lord.

Voting other.
In what world would you pick Casey over ASP, Simashev, Yakemchuk...

Yakemchuk

Those are my next 3. Jiricek not getting enough love here as well. Seems underrated

Jiricek was rated below Yakemchuk by literally everyone (analysts, internet fans, and even NHL teams at the draft). Then you can factor in previously drafted D (Simashev, ASP) and forwards as well...I don't see how anyone would have Jiricek this high.

Again (because some people have made this mistake in past polls and I can’t be sure you’re not doing the same…) people realize this is Adam Jiricek, #16 in the 2024 draft, not his older brother David, taken 6th overall 2022 and now too established for this poll?

A nonzero number of votes have been given to Jiricek in polls so far by people who thought they were voting for the Columbus Jiricek.

I mean, Parekh was pretty much right there either a spot ahead or behind Buium in most rankings. He was also ahead of Iginla and Sennecke. As well, many spots above Hutson on Wheeler's list.

This is the rankings of HF Boards, not other analysts. It will not match. It will have homer votes. It is what it is.

Wrong Jiricek. My bad
