Habs prospects faring better here than in Atheltic's wheeler's ranking

Ivan Demidov (3rd) vs 3rd
Lane Hutson (26th) vs 14th
David Reinbacher (38th) vs 20th
Michael Hage (41st) vs ???

Shouldn't Hage be a voting option if Reinbacher was already voted?

was constantly behind guys like: MBN, Connolly, Jiricek in the pre-draft lists, he'll be added eventually. I would ague Roy and Mailloux are more proven already, but I think all 3 are close together.

I was comparing with Wheeler's ranking but yeah it's just one list

I'd be curious to see other lists

Depends on if you average out Connelly's ranking with the plethora of lists that had him as ND

well amongst 16 lists his average was 21.15 (range 14-22).... Connelly is said to have top 10 talent in the draft, but fell because of that incident. Hes also quite light at 6'1 161 lbs right now.

Are we considering this incident here? I would think not.

I'd take Danielson over MBN rather easily right now.

I'm convinced that the consensus on MBN is wrong and that he's actually a high upside player. Danielson is pretty good too but not MBN has a more special gift for winning puck battles, and of course shooting.

It's not one incident with Connelly, The Athletic had a whole article overflowing with incidents of his.

Anyways he's a very junior type player, and a long term project. He's top ten talent in stickhandling and skating but not top ten talent overall.

Simashev, Perreault, Mateychuk, Catton, Parekh jump out at me as a cut above the rest. Went Parekh since I think he has the most attractive player style but I think any of these guys has an argument.

Im not part of those homer votes that have Hutson and Reinbacher in this high, but to be fair Montreal were recently ranked 3rd in the league amongst the "NHL team prospect pools".

I think Mailloux and Roy would arguably have their place in the top 50, as they are AHL proven talents. Mailloux 3rd leading scorer in the AHL amongst Dmen as a rookie! Roy 32P in 41GP (Laval), had a great WJC with Bedard, and a respectable 9P in 24GP with the crapass Habs last season.

But theyll both be in the that huge mix as we get past #40 or so.

Actually Calum Ritchie this time. Fortunately, my miscast vote last time didn't stop Reinbacher from going where here should have, if not later already. But now is the time for Ritchie i think. Though i can see an argument for a few others.

Definitely add Willander. He's a guy who went around or ahead of a bunch of other guys on this list, within his own draft...and had a very solid first developmental year in the NCAA to justify sustaining that. Has done nothing to dissuade from the idea that he was worth a near Top-10 pick. Very much belongs in the conversation with, or ahead of a number of these other guys on the list.

Heck...i'd easily consider him Vancouver's Top Prospect tbh. Over Lekkerimaki. Who seems to be garnering plenty of votes already.

Lol. Didn't Wheeler have like...Brzustewicz ranked ahead of Willander even? He clearly just doesn't like the guy.

idk. I just don't really see it. But a lot of these sort of publications (and this voting list here) tend to massively overemphasize "Closeness to NHL". As well as just big raw counting stats at lower levels.

Neither of which is going to flatter Willander a lot. But that doesn't mean he isn't a better prospect than Lekkermaki. Much more important and valuable at the very least.
