Toews is so overrated holy smokes. Imagine being considered a top 13 defenseman when you are the sidekick to an actual #1D.

He got voted ahead of guys who actually play the #1D spot. Toews would not be a #1D on almost every team in the NHL.

The quality of hockey knowledge on HFB’s has dropped substantially in the past 5-7 years.

Carlson and Pietrangelo have fallen off (especially Pietrangelo), and Chabot is still inconsistent and kind of a tire fire much of the time. I think this is actually Werenski. Look for his points to jump up now that he's got Gaudreau.

If we were to trust the numbers, he should've been voted already but unfortunately people only trust numbers when it suits them. If it goes against their beliefs it all just lies and conspiracy.

I think Toews might be a couple spot ahead but he's very good either with Makar or was with Girard. IMO that argument is as bad as those people who said few years ago that Drai is a product of McDavid. You want your team's best chance to win and if it is to staple McDrai together as Toews and Makar it shouldn't be a problem in ranking a player.

Recency bias I guess but I could see some combination of the Chabot, Dahlin, Pietro having a better season than Toews so rankings will probably change next year as always.

Edit : Also to add that Avs went 5-10-1 without Toews last season. That's almost half of all the losses in the regular season (56-19-7)

do you trust all the numbers the Panthers' players put up last year? I have nothing against Weegar, but the numbers: Duclair, Marchment, Verhaeghe, even Bennett and Lundell put up wouldnt be replicated on almost any other team.

Well, considering he had even better numbers the year before, yes I do. And that's when he pulled the biggest workload after Ekblad went out.
