Each of todays games has some serious playoff ramification potential. Its basically down to deciding the final wildcard spot in the West but the East is subject to change yet.

Yeah, that was a bit of both. Rust is only about a half-step behind Hagelin in terms of speed on the Pens. A nice luxury to have out there in this kind of scenario that the Pens really haven't had in a long time (doubly so with Hagelin being an option to throw out there in the final minute as well).

I too would be surprised if they get caught but they are coming off a terrific winning streak which should have all but eliminated that possibility, but didn't.
A Tampa Bay win puts the top 3 in the Atlantic within 1 point of each other for 1st whereas a loss in regulation keeps them in the sights of the #7-9 teams. Not game of the year material per se but still capable of significant impact.
