Almost everyone outside of Calgary predicted their demise. The complete collapse of their defense is hilarious after how much their fans were pimping the 6 defenders they could ice.

It wasn't just Flames fans. On paper their D definitely looked top 10-15 in the league with a top pairing of Giordano and Brodie and then Hamilton, Wideman and Russell. Problem is: Brodie was injured and everyone else has played well below their level and now they are just lost.

I thought the Avs defense this year was arguably the worst in the league with EJ and Barrie really disappointing. I was wrong. Giordano, Brodie, Hamilton, Wideman...a defense I saw a few wondering might be the best in the league...just appalling.
