======================
I've had an idea. Let's decide who the greatest players in Avalanche history are.
  • You decide what "greatest" means.
  • Only judge players based on their Avalanche careers. This means no extra points for Sakic's time with the Nordiques, or Ray Bourque's time with the Bruins.
  • Poll will be open for a few days.
  • Each time you vote, suggest a player who should be added for the next round.
  • If there's no consensus on who should be added I'll just pick the next player who's played the most games.
  • Here's a list of everyone: Colorado Avalanche all-time player list at hockeydb.com

Ozolinsh, Yelle, Drury, Bourque, Stastny, McLeod, Hinote is the order of the options here imo.

How good does Drury look in his picture? Look at that hair. An absolute dreamboat.

I still say it's past time to add Duchene. He's top 10 in Avs scoring still, just because he was the cornerstone of a failed rebuild doesn't mean he wasn't a great Av.

If we give breaks on tenure for success in short period... we should also be able to scrutinize vs a player that was here a while but never really accomplished anything.

Six seasons and a Cup. In case you were wondering, Johnny had five and no Cup.
for me, Hinote shouldnt be considered to a top 30. top 40, maybe. Krupp was more important to a title than Hinote, for example. a name who is not in the candidates list yet. could name several others. Hinote btw was nothing more than a 4th liner who never came close to even putting 20 points a season. Mitchell as a player was a lot more than that, the numbers dont lie. I get Hinote was a fan favorite but that alone shouldnt deserve a place in the list, at least not yet. twenty spots later from now, we can talk.

It's not that he's the cornerstone of a failed rebuild. It's that he asked to leave. He wanted off the Avs. It's going to be very difficult to ever convince me to vote for him in Greatest Avs because he asked to not be an Av anymore.

I love Hinote, and I've asked for him to be added for the last two rounds. But that doesn't mean I ever expected him to be aded this early. I just wanted to make sure he got on the board.

I love the guy and he's one of my favorites all time. As good as he was here and he won a cup with us, his greatest moment actually occured during the lockout in Europe...
