I worry that Bean would be redundant in our system unless we lose Barrie, and I still hope we don't. A team only really needs one of those shifty offensive guys in the NHL.

He would be 3+ years from making the team full time, and another 2 or so until he could really be a replacement for Barrie. By which time, Barrie could be slowing down, or could bring in a huge haul. Or could be long gone. And Bean has better D than Barrie did at the same age (better O as well). I would not be surprised to see him develop into an OEL clone if he can bulk up just a bit.

I went with Bellows again because I'd really rather draft a forward but Bean is an interesting prospect.

Between Bellows and Kunin for me... I went with Kunin as I think there is a bit more upside.

Can't say I know much about Kunin, can you give a quick scouting report on him?

Dynamic offensive player with one of the better shots in the draft.... it is heavy and accurate. Very smart player and isn't afraid of the dirty areas of the ice. Plays the game with a lot of tenacity and is a big time leader (good chance he gets a letter at Wisconsin next year). His skating needs a good amount of work. His first step is slow and it takes him some time to get up to speed (when he gets up to speed, he is quick)... a good amount of wasted movement too. He has good balance and is decently strong for his age and frame, but he will never be a bull type of player. It is a kind of a cop out comparison, but he reminds me a lot of Joe Pavelski at the same age.

Kunin is a player that played a 3rd line role on the development team in 14-15 and still potted 27 goals. That gives an idea of his finishing capability.

Why over Bellows? I think they have about similar offensive upsides, Kunin has better defensive upside and will play center in the NHL... likely in a 2nd line role. Positionally more valuable.

I know I'll be in the minority here but I'm very high on Max Jones and would start looking at him any time after 15. Lots of reasons to believe he'll have huge growth next season and he already shows so well
