Obviously great to have Hank back in the fold.

Practically speaking, how is this arrangement going to work? Vally has been the #1 studio analyst and authority on all-things goaltending the last few years. He's honed his trade during that time to become a very good analyst and polished presenter. I'm pretty sure they'll ease Hank in, but are they going to let Hank give "rebuttals" to Vally's insights, especially when it comes to goaltending? Vally played backup to Hank on the ice, now the tables are turned. I think it's going to be Vally leading and Hank following. Hank has always been alpha.

Expect some cringey interactions.

Awesome news. Will be interesting to see what the dynamic is like with two goalies. Did Vally even do any of the preseason games?
 
I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited to watch pregame and postgame coverage before lol.

No way as scout, too obscure. Probably somewhere in the front office, a leadership position most likely, unless he wants to be more a part of the daily grind and players as a coach.

Hank can focus on the goaltending, Vally covers plenty with his advanced metrics.
 
I think Hank can work very well on TV. Apart from being charismatic, he's usually quite intelligent in his answers. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to hockey and he can put himself in the perspective of the attacker/ defenseman/ goalie/ whatever.

I do feel his talent is wasted there but if he wants an easy job while still being involved in hockey, who can blame him? And I mean, he likes to pose, so win win for him.

This is great news! He will be great. Good gig for him as he transitions into retirement. Awesome.

Always one of the best interviews. Very introspective and has a great sense of the game. I expect him to be even more articulate now that he doesnt have to speak on behalf the team and as a player. Really exciting.
 
Yes!!! Hank with the goaltending; Vally with analytics.

Speaking of former Rangers on MSG: anyone notice that Callahan sounds a bit like Jeremy Strong (Kendall in Succession)?
