HELP - Mounting jersey into shadow box

So I have this signed jersey that I want to mount into a shadow box. I tried pinning the jersey with small pins. The jersey dropped as soon as I lifted it up. The jersey is to heavy to be pinned obviously.

The backing of the shadow box is 1/4" of felt and then there is a cardboard backing enclosure.

There is a hanger in the shadow box but when I hang the jersey it looks very amateurish. Not what I want.

Do I try to stitch it on or does someone have a better solution.

My brother created a cardboard cut-out which he then placed inside the jersey to keep it solid and prevent from sagging. I believe he then pinned it without issue but am not sure.

I have a signed jersey as well. My fiance put it in a shadow box for Christmas. She just used a couple of pins to keep it up, and it looks absolutely fantastic.

stick a piece of cardboard inside the jersey to hold it's shape and then pin the cardboard+back of the jersey to the backing of the box.
