I think the identity is coming into light finally.

I believe the Danault and Lizotte lines are the pulse of the team.

Defense and goaltending are solid.

Still a lot of work to be done but the last ten or so games I’ve seen a pretty consistent team even with players coming and going against tough competition.

Hoping they can stay competitive and maintain their pace of play. Happy to be excited about games again.

The players definitely seem to be executing better. There's effort and pace, and you can't argue with the results.
I’m happy to see the improvement and commitment. Lot of season left and tempering my expectations going forward. Still feel like it’s not the final product. Waiting for Byfield and that third line to come into existence :)

Also feel like Chychrun would be a monster add.

As funny as it sounds, it all started with Lizzote and Lemieux.

Constantly grinding, keeping pressure on the opposing team's D, potting a few goals, and creating momentum for the next line are byproducts of that line that have filtered throughout the lineup.

I'd agree and say it was the 4th line along with whatever line Danault was on.

That game against Pittsburgh was easily the best game in a few years.

One of the big things I wanted this year and it's starting to show in a big way.

Tenacious forechecking, breakneck pace play. The one thing all these players have in common is quick thinking and vision--their passing when on is unstoppable. And MOST of them are phenomenal checkers, including a few amongst the best in the league.

I'd say unequivocally yes, the Kings have found their voice, and it's a pain in the ass team to play. I'm on board 100%

I'd say the Pittsburgh game is arguably the best the Kings have looked since 2014. I can't remember them completely dominating a top team in quite the same manner.

They are getting a lot of value from the 1-3-1 system outside of the division. Last year they fell in a heap after the TDL as they were playing teams for the 6th,7th or 8th time and they'd developed strategies to cope with it. The AVS last year struggled hard against us for the first 5 or so games as they consistently tried to carry the puck through the zone and couldn't do it with all the congestion.

Another year of development on the system and now the east coast teams are seeing 18 months of work for the first time and they just aren't adjusting to something different that they only see twice a year. Add to that that the young defencemen are developing well and teams dumping in against us arent getting the puck back.

Funny how nobody gives TMac and the coaching staff any credit in this "newfound identity". And I'm not a TMac fan by any means.

I am. I have no issues with TM. Last year was tough to stomach, but I feel that was mostly due to the roster. With that said, I feel there is a noticeable difference in the 'system' from last season...I also believe they've played pretty well since October, have had a few stinkers and haven't always got the results they deserved...but it feels like the consistency is breaking through.

IF Kings make the playoffs...TM a candidate for Jack Adams? Me thinks so...

Last year the roster wasnt as good and he didnt have as much to work with. But they had this way about them where they were playing not to lose. Also last season theyd let the other team dictate pace too much.
They are more confident this season and have been playing their game mostly regardless of score and opponent.
Tmacs biggest weakness is in game management but youll see fans of every other team complain about the same thing.

You don't win in the NHL if you are constantly losing the territorial battle. The Kings are starting to win that battle on a consistent basis.

You do that by keeping the gaps between the forwards and defensemen tight and forcing turnovers in the neutral zone. The King are getting better at it.

He’s not a liability even in a down year. LA needs his offense but he would not hurt them in his own zone. Injury history is the big knock on him. He's got three more years at a bargain rate.

He’s doing a good job and deserves credit. I think the pieces are shaping up. Long way to go tho. No jinx’s here. Can’t afford any kind of long losing streak. Just was happy watching the pens game thinking that they can hang with anybody right now and I now expect a certain style when I tune in.
