No forwards to set him up

Come on man, watch Michkov on the pp and Bedard.

A 1st oa with the gen tag shouldnt need someone to set him up empty netters.

The goal yesterday was a nice one. No one set him up, the release was elite, he beat the goalie. He should be doing more of that, but hes not

Bedard doesn't have any empty netters this year and only had 1 last season. Pay attention.

Donato is irrelevant its great for him hes got an opportunity to show hes a capable player when needed.

Bedard should be producing at a higher pace. 2.5 is low

Michkov is working with 3.4 pts per 60 min

What happend to Bedard's shot? How come, after a full year and half my team did not succeed at improving Bedard's shooting? These are questions i would be asking my self if i was a chicago fan.
That's basically the main reason they fired a coach.

Wouldn't write off Bedard just yet. I remember he had a miserable start to his draft-year season in the dub and then turned on the jets. Obviously this is a different situation but he's growing and filling out. My prediction is that at some point he catches fire, probably in the second half, and everyone will be excited again.

You do realize that, for all their faults, Chicago is 11th in PP% this season and that is almost entirely because of Bedard.

Nothing happened to his shot. What happened is that he is, by far and away, the best offensive player on his team. Teams can, and do, sell out to take away his shot. Add to that that there is no other players that can reliably make plays to get him the puck in space, and you have your answer. Anyone who watches Chicago regularly can tell you this.

No1 problem for Bedard is his usage. Its terrible. He's been overly used, he can't even handle it. This is not his fault but we need to recognize he cant play 20 mins a night (right now) and i dont understand why they do it in Chicago. Its stupid, you risk burning him out, ruin his confidence and break him.

No2 Supporting cast, its abysmal, we all agree on that

No3 Positional, he plays to be the hero on the ice rather than be effective, this hurts his game and Chicagos game as well, regardless with who he's playing with. Chicago needs to stop treating him like he's their McDavid and comeback to reality.

He is by far and away the best offensive player on the team, of course they are going to play him a ton. They have also been weirdly competitive this year despite their record, so they have been within a goal in the 3rd in almost every game this season. Of course you are going to get your best player out there in those situations. Every coach would be doing the same thing.

He definitely can force things at times and make some ill-advised plays, but I don't think it is him trying to be a "hero", its just a function of him having basically the weight of the offence on his shoulders and trying to make some thing happen. Its not like he is being selfish, he has more than twice as many assists as any other forward on the team. And no, he is not Chicago's McDavid. In a weird way he is actually more important because Bedard doesn't have a Draisaitl to help.

These "Celebrini has a better supporting cast than Bedard" excuses are getting old. Celebrini just put up three points last night playing with Nikolai Kovalenko. It doesn't matter who he's playing with, he simply makes things happen every shift.

Celebrini is not and will not ever be better than Bedard, you fan boys of Celebrini are becoming annoying.

I'm sorry the fact that Macklin Celebrini is better than Connor Bedard is annoying to you! Take a nap and come back tomorrow with more "but muh linemates" excuses, I'm sure it'll work better then.

We're saying the same thing essentially at the core of it

I'm on the fence about who will be better. But, despite being a year younger, Celebrini has unquestionably been better this season, and I'm starting to think he might have the brighter future (which would be a change in my position from the start of the season). He's able to create a lot more on his own than Bedard.

They shouldn't overuse him to squeeze out some more wins. They aren't good enough to make the playoffs, so they should let him naturally progress with ice time. Sure they probably get a few less wins but it's not like that's not better for them right now.

Celebrinis all around game is much better than Bedards. Bedard just went through a giant struggle to start the season and still is leading his team in scoring as a 19 year old. 24points in 28 games.

My guess is for the rest of this season Bedard heats back up again and beats out Celebrini in points by a decent margin. Celebrinis all around game stays better. They both continue to grow into top 10 players in the league.

Would have been the ideal 1 2 punch in Chicago. Damn

how are they overusing him? Hes playing 19:47 min a game and 3:30 of its on the PP. Hes the best offensive player on the hawks by far and the hawks are the lowest scoring team in the league.

All joking aside, no one sane is saying that Bedard won't be a star scorer in the NHL. He's an incredible talent. Just that maybe we should put to bed the "generational" talk and admit that he isn't in a separate tier from Celebrini and Michkov.

Those three guys are the NHL stars of tomorrow.
