Harvard did win in 1988 and 1993 and NU. in 1988. But this was before you were born
I'll be there to root on my Eagles and hope to catch some of Harvard/Huskies game.
Saw Vermont/Notre Dame game on NBC Sports last night (4-4 tie). No Bjork for some reason.

Go Huskies!!! From a Friars fan...we should have a general hockey thread on here given how many teams are in our area. Friars used a 3rd period comeback to squeeze past Maine 3-2 and run their winning streak to 6. Maine has still not won a game away from Alfond this season.

Interested to see if freshman winger Krusko plays tonight for Harvard. His consistently good play provided Donato with an opportunity to shake up the lines. Essentially, Donato took the top 6 forwards (Kerfoot, Malone, RDonato, Esposito, Moy, and Zerter-Gossage), broke them into pairs (Krusko skating on the top line with Kerfoot and Malone), and created three solid lines out of two stacked lines. Team responded with an away sweep of Cornell and Colgate. Unfortunately, Krusko did not play on Friday night so I don't know if he's available.

So glad it looks like BU got BC on the ropes.
A Harvard win would be really good for the tournament though, but BU looks like a juggernaut.

disclaimer, only seen McAvoy 5 times this season
but..to me he doesnt look ready...especially if Clode is still coaching the bruins.
McAvoy seems like the kind of D that will drive Clode nuts.
I think he is a great player but in the 5 games I've seen him play this year (Again VERY limited viewing) I havent been too impressed with the defensive side of things.
He does seem to play big minutes and always out there in different situations which is good.
But he seems to try to do too much and sometimes makes what should be a simple play very difficult, makes some bad turnovers (which is expected for a run and gun kinda D) and he at times looks lost in the D-zone a bit too much running around.
The skating is great, physical, great shot, likes to push the pace but he gets into some trouble with it still. Still though, quarterbacking a PP, point shots, creative passing..it's hard not to love the whole package.
Now I mean...Clode may not be here by the time McAvoy gets here but..I just don't see him having an easy time in Clode's system.
I think he is the kind of D that the Bruins need though and I think he will turn out great, just trying to taper my expectations on him making the team next season or whatever like Carlo...looks like he needs to calm down a bit more and be smarter with the puck at times.

I watched last nights game and a lot of the WJCs, including a couple USA games live.
While I love the over-all package of McAvoy, and believe he is Boston's No.1 prospect, penciling him into next year's line-up, even as a small contributor, is very premature.
Of the two, JFK has a better chance of cracking the Bruins roster out of next year's camp. Very pro-style game he plays.

watched the game last night, so poised and mature (JFK)
I love McAvoy`s game, what I especially like is those times where he takes the puck up ice, if the play goes the other way, takes him no time to race back into the play, that aspect of his game reminds me of Karlsson and he`s far more physical than I envisioned him when drafted when I had seen him play perhaps one or two games previously

McAvoy is very well rounded. They had him mic'd up and you can tell he's not only a leader but intelligent and understands the game well.
A bit of patience and solid coaching, and he could be very, very good. The whole package is there, just needs some polishing.

exactly, I do see him being a kid who could step in next season, already has NHL speed and his hockey sense is obvious sitting on my couch.
One thing I noticed last night is he isn`t one of those D-men who gets the puck behind the net and just pounds it along the boards without looking at options first and that first pass of his..........yes please
Disappointed in the BC/BU outcome but BU is clearly the better team. Way more talent. Left before 3rd period to catch a train but I, too was impressed by JFK. Although he took a couple of holding penalties, I thought he showed good vision and was around the puck a lot. He plays responsible defense and does well on face offs.

First period was the sloppiest, most boring period I have seen in college hockey in a long time. There were so many icings and stoppages in play. And, because the game was televised on NESN, commercial breaks galore.

Was unfortunately unable to catch a lot of either game. Always like the intensity shown by the players in this unique tournament. Bragging rights mean something to the players.
Tuned in a one point when they were interviewing Sweeny. Didn't see any sign that he was struggling or stressed with his impending decision/announcement on Claude's fate. May have missed something with the portion of the interview that I did not catch. Wonder when he/they actually came to their decesion?

As of now, BU and Harvard sit 3rd and 4th in the Pairwise where teams are compared against each other in three categories: record vs common opponents, head-to-head, and RPI. A team wins a comparison by beating the other team in the three criteria.

Don't know why they need to pick on nu.
Nu has actually done a very good job making it to the finals the last handful of years but can't get the job done... Either way the huskies are still hockey east champs for a few more weeks!
I expect another bu win tomorrow... Harvard is not as good as their is
ranking indicates. I won't be there though can't get out of work in time for the 5 pm game. Plus going to the boat show to prep for my summer hobby.
Those of you in Canada can see the game on TSN2 starting at 7:30. In New England it will be on NESN.
There are some good teams in the ECAC.
I hope Harvard wins, break the BC/BU dominance.
