AHL TV ... bunch of cheating b.asta.rds.
Team Home and Away advertised as $34.99... auto-renewal charged me $48.99. I was in contact with them regarding a credit I had with them ($11), they assured it would be applied as part of the auto-renewal for this season. Of course it wasn't.
Just received this via E-Mail:
"On January 27, 2021, our automated billing system triggered an auto-renew of your AHLTV Subscription. There was an error in the price charged and we are working diligently to correct the mistake. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
All charges from January 27, 2021 will be adjusted to the correct price as quickly as possible."
I'd be surprised to see LoVerde sitting with Giuttari in the lineup, unless the plan is to go as young as possible. I also don't know about Ronning on the third line--I think that someone like McBride will likely end up playing ahead of him. Ronning has never really shown much in the AHL and I know the organization liked what McBride did as an AHL piece.Vince Mercogliano has a story today about Hartford after speaking to Chris Drury. Previewing AHL Hartford season and NY Rangers prospects to watch. Drury said the team normally has 23 players but thought the Wolfpack would carry 26 because of covid.
He projected the 26 including possible lines and defensive parings as follows:
Forwards
First line → Morgan Barron (LW) • Gabriel Fontaine (C) • Jonny Brodzinski (RW)
Second line → Tim Gettinger (LW) • Justin Richards (C) • Patrick Newell (RW)
Third line → Will Cuylle (LW) • Patrick Khodorenko (C) • Ty Ronning (RW)
Fourth line → Ryan Dmowski (LW) • Mike O'Leary (C) • Austin Rueschhoff (RW)
Extras → Jake Elmer (RW), Shawn McBride (C) and Alex Whelan (RW)
Defense
Top pair → Tarmo Reunanen (L) • Darren Raddysh (R)
Second pair → Matthew Robertson (L) • Braden Schneider (R)
Third pair → Brandon Crawley (L) • Zach Giuttari (R)
Extras → Mason Geertsen (L) and Vincent LoVerde (R)
Goalies
Starter → Adam Huska
Backup → Tyler Wall
Extra → Dylan Garand
NOTE: Forward Anthony Greco was placed on the NHL taxi squad Tuesday.

Yeah that would make sense. You put the guys you may need on the taxi and go really young in the AHL. Still need some vets to give the kids a chance, but otherwise it's youth all the way.Concerning your comment about going as young as possible l saw this quote in an article in the Athletic about the AHL salary proposal:
“This season is only about development for the NHL-contracted guys, no one is playing to win anything,” one AHL-contracted player said. “We know that. The teams know that. It’s not about anything other than that.”
So which junior eligibles do the Pack lose with the WHL starting?
Do we know what AHL CBA stuff was changed? Is this public info?
Yeah, being the lower pro-leagues in NA sucks at the moment. Much sympathies to them.Long and short of it is that the players originally agreed to a deal where they'd get about 80% of their salaries, but that was when it was assumed everyone would be playing 50 or more games.
Now the AHL has basically reneged, since they're playing far fewer games total, and most players will receive 40-48% of their salary--which for a lot of NHL guys means they're making like $30k. There are lots of guys who passed up the chance to sign in Europe with the assumption they'd be making 80% over here, which really screws them.
Worse, the AHL basically told the PHPA that either they take this deal or the season would be canceled. So even though everyone knew this deal was awful, they were basically forced to take it. It's either take the deal or earn nothing at all, which is particularly tough for the lower-end AHL/ECHL-types who haven't been paid for a game since the AHL shut down almost a year ago.
Shitty, shitty situation.
Stockton will be back next year.Sad, Stockton Heat - the name and logo - was one of the nicest teams around. Might be because I'm a huge Pavement fan, but still.
Yeah as @Leetch3 said, only the handful of Alberta-based teams were given the clear to play. And then, they're only playing 24 games, like Hartford (starting February 26).So which junior eligibles do the Pack lose with the WHL starting?
doubtful, Calgary only had a year lease..... when the pandemic struckStockton will be back next year.
Pack goal, by guy with their most NHL experience
Yeah IDK what the other teams do for coverage, but with Hartford it's always as if the preseason games don't even exist. I mean they're not really covered on the AHL site, either, but still.Pack lose 3-1 with Providence scoring an empty net goal. Pack goal was Brodzinski from Newell. Huska and Brassard split goalie duties.
The Pack do a terrible job in providing information about the team.
Wolf Pack Fall to P-Bruins in Preseason Action, 3-1 | Hartford Wolf Pack
Always found it odd that for a league that is desperate for fans, they do almost nothing to promote it. They've never put pre-season games/box scores on their website and that is also pretty sad.Yeah IDK what the other teams do for coverage, but with Hartford it's always as if the preseason games don't even exist. I mean they're not really covered on the AHL site, either, but still.
