Confirmation that Sykora will be released for the WJC.

ADDED:
FYI from the (translated) article, Sykora on not leaving to join team until in Sweden (WJC Host,) after playing through Pack game of Dec 17

"Will you join the team in Slovakia?
No, I will not fly directly to Sweden behind the guys until December 18.

What is your current program?
I should play seven more meetings for Hartford, the last one on December 17 at home against the Toronto Marlies, and the next day I should be flying behind the team.

Pack recall DiGiacinto w Lesch hurt and Brodz up

has been a 30+ games, bottom 6, depth guy for Pack last couple seasons as well

2023-11-29 Cristiano DiGiacinto (F) Hartford ADD Recalled from loan to Cincinnati (ECHL)

UPDATE: actually missed this on Tuesday, Pekar also recalled
he's a guy who could stick, aggressive and physical with some skill,
progress w Sabres had been slowed by injury
2023-11-28 Matej Pekar (C) Hartford ADD Recalled from loan to Cincinnati (ECHL)

UPDATE 2: just saw at Prospects thread (Quoted Below) Sykora WILL be at WJC w Slovaks, another reason for pack to add F depth
Pekar had 12 points in 14 games with 7 in the last 5.
It's hard not to root for DiGiacinto. In his third year with the Hartford organization, gives you everything he's got. Physical and occasionally chips in with a point. I read somewhere he's especially well liked in the locker room. He's just happy to be playing pro hockey. Had 10 points in 14 games with Cincinnati.
Hartford was playing Brodzinski, Nash, Henriksson and Korczak at center. Korczak hasn't shown much so far and Henriksson just doesn't seem able to finish although he is creative and works hard. I don't see either as moving up to the top two lines. I see Belzile or Elson moving to center to replace Brodzinski. Elson can play as a veteran with Brodzinski up.

....Elson can play as a veteran with Brodzinski up.
I had thought that once Harpur was out long-term,
Pack had no concerns re vet rule (only 5 active vets)

but Elson has had numerous DNPs which had me wondering if that was why ...
am i doing this wrong?

Of the 18 skaters (not counting two goaltenders) that teams may dress for a game, at least 13 must be qualified as "development players."
Of those 13, 12 must have played in 260 or fewer professional games (including AHL, NHL and European elite leagues), and one must have played in 320 or fewer professional games.
All calculations for development status are based on regular-season totals as of the start of the season.

Here's tonight's lineup

Goal: Domingue

Defense: Robertson and Scanlin, Hallowell and Mackey, Hillman and Brouliard
Berzola out week to week
Gabriel is healthy
Cairns, as noted above, sent back to Cincinnati

Forwards:
Othmann-Nash-Berard
Pekar-Belzile-Trivigno
Sykora-Henriksson-Blidh
Elson-Korczak-Rempe

Edstrom is ill, day to day
DeGiacinto healthy

Big opportunity for Pekar

Two good AHL seasons + two years of training with Benoit Allaire.
Any chance of NHL G.M.‘a calling Chris Drury about the price of acquiring Louie Domingue?
I can't imagine any GM would offer enough to convince Drury to trade him. We need a decent 3rd goalie and Garand isn't ready. And we'd have to promote one of Lindbom/Boyko to the AHL, and neither is ready for that.

I'd say middle 6 upside. He's a smaller guy, but I don't think that will hold him back. He's a year younger than most players in their rookie AHL season, and he is among the youngest in his draft class.
maybe a Callahan type? Literally the same size but obviously Sykora has time to grow.
It's been nice to see not only a good team in Hartford but guys like Othmann/Sykora/Berard/Edstrom all having stretches where they have contributed.
