I listened to the description of Othmann when he wzs drafted and it sounded eerily similar to JT Miller. I love his profile, physical guy with a great shot. Any idea when we see him with the big club?

So we burn a year this year no matter what?
I don't know to whom you are referring, but I assume Othmann.

Yes, we burn a year no matter what. The ELC slide only applies to 18 and 19 year old players. Othmann will probably get a call up at some point, just like Cuylle did last year, but he needs to keep working on his game in the AHL.

IIRC yes, this contract year is underway regardless, he is over 20

IF he were 18/19, D+1/D+2, with under 10 NHL games played, he could be returned to Juniors and ELC deferred

spending the full season playing pro, even AHL,, consumes a contract year

Yup.

Love the fight to get the puck back after losing it and the awareness to find Nash right after.

If this keeps up he’s a real contender for a roster spot next season.

At this point I can see Berard get the call up before Othmann. Berard has been that good so far in his 1st pro hockey season

No idea but I don't understand why we can't give him an 8 game tryout. We wouldn't burn a year off his ELC in that case I believe.
I like Othmann a lot and he is among the best forward prospects we have had in the last decade.

But I think we need to tap the brakes on a call up.

He's played 10 games, all or almost all on the first line and first power play.

He's scored 2 goals, both power play goals in the first game. So he has no even strength goals in ten games and hasn't scored a goal in nine.

He's scored five assists. Two were at even strength, one being a secondary assist. The other three were on the PP with one being a primary assist.

At even strength he's 0-2 with one primary assist.

I've seen all of the scoring plays and the goals were rockets and his primary assists were impactful but on the secondary assists he was a passenger.

I would like to see a lot more production at the AHL level before we start talking about call ups. I expect that to happen but I don't think it's in his or the Rangers interests to rush him when he is not yet ready.

Lindbolm in goal tonight.

Connor Mackey recalled by the Rangers and Berzolla and Cairns are with Hollowell scratched day to day along with Harpur who is week to week. Berzolla and Cairns paired together.

Elson is in for Leschyschyn who is week to week. Trivigno is in the press box. Worrard on the roster but not with the team and not available through November.

Can you kind folks help me out with Berard. I remember hearing he was a Marchand PITA type player. It sounds like he has offensive skills. Are those possibly top 6 skills or would he be an Avery type minus the toxic behavior? Remember Avery was actually a fairly good player.
