Have to feel bad for Chris here. He has one of the few Hart Trophy winning seasons by a defenseman but has no chance against Orr here.

I got HF'd.

I came in here thinking "ok - finally, an easily unanimous poll". But nope - 7 voters in, and we already have someone who thinks Pronger is better than peak Orr. Only on HF.

That wasn't the question though, but which had a better (Hart) season. Pronger wouldn't make my top 20 defensemen of all time list, but he did carry the Blues to the best season in franchise history that year, if not quite single-handedly then at least with rather mediocre support.

He also barely won the Hart, and only won't he award because Jagr missed 1/4 of the season.

Stars really lined up for him that year.

The question is - which hart trophy winner had the better season.

Orr's season >>>>> Pronger's season.

You should change your vote.

The Bruins had a regular season for the ages overall, but Pronger was more of a team MVP (Hart Trophy) which to me is a significant factor.

Very easily Orr. There isn't much to discuss. This is one of the very best seasons ever against a great season.
