My FB memories brought up these pictures I took of my favorite painting at the Naval Aviation museum years ago. I love how the perspective changes depending on which side you're looking at it from.
I wouldn't want to live in Pensacola again, but I do miss the museum and the Blue Angels.

My neighbor and I are going to the 5 pm movie Wicked. I read the book and saw the show (in London). After that I want my jammies on and to be on the couch with the cats.
Happy New Year! All the best to everyone, let's hope 2025 brings good things. No celebrations for us tonight, I will be tucked in in bed, hopefully asleep. We will have a New Year's supper tomorrow.

Still being destroyed by this man cold (special thanks to the twins for passing this on, even though they fought it off in 2 days and I'm going on day 6) and I'm fresh out of Dayquil.
We did however, just book a couple days at Loon for my 40th. The twins have been dying to ski again, and my daughter wants to give it a whirl this time. I actually just got off the phone with an adaptive ski program at Loon, so we have an account with them now and my daughter will have her first 1 on 1 lesson with an adaptive ski coach. The plan is to have her start with snowboarding, but if she physically can't do it then she may end up essentially riding on a sled that the coach (and then I) will commandeer for her. We will see how it goes! I'm very excited, also a little nervous. I still remember all the ski trips I went on with my father when I was a kid, so I get the warm fuzzies when I think of continuing it down through my kids.

Chuck dont know if your kids ever rode the mountain coaster there but it’s a blast.
I have done the Attitash coaster but Vail demolished it when they took over. That one was really good. I know Cranmore has one too, not sure of any others. I only have 1 thrill seeker in our trio, and he wants to try a mountain coaster so badly. We are considering extending our stay another night actually, so if we do i will have to find a mountain coaster for the kids to try.

Just opened a fresh little of wine, took some chicken wings out of the oven that have been marinating for 48 hours. Mac and cheese cups. Chicken parm calzone with homemade cutlets.
I can’t believe there are people who pay for the privelage of standing in line to go out

I hope 2025 is filled with many blessings. Health, happiness, and love.
Today is also my late grandmother's birthday. She would of been 102. Our tradition was to always stay home, eat Chinese food and sing Happy Birthday. We've continued that tradition since her passing in 2013. It's a solemn day for me since then, but I'm always hopeful the new year and season brings all the health and happiness one needs.

I walked over to the pub, had a pint, watched some college ball, ordered nearly every appetizer on the menu and hauled it back to the dining room table for anyone who wants to drop in throughout the night except advanced analytics nerds

We do so much hosting during the holidays. It’s a lot of work. NYE we tend to reserve for just us, although others know our door is always open if they need somewhere to go.
Just finished Chinese takeout with my sister. Will soon change into my jammies & fall asleep with the cats

I've never really seen the point to celebrating it. Just flipping another page on the calendar.
Instead I'll be home trying to keep the dog from going nuts with all the fireworks. Some loony tune has been setting them off the last couple nights here already.

I love a celebration, and I love a fresh page. I just prefer to do it quietly, at home, in my pjs with no bathroom lines or surge pricing on Ubers to get home

Agree. I read last year where some people who went to Times Square actually wore diapers because of the bathroom situation or rather lack thereof. How on earth is that fun???
