This isn’t true. The Rangers need both. But Lindholm isn’t the right target because they can’t afford to pay him. Rangers aren’t one move away so they can’t trade for an elite rental there, especially not using Lafreniere.

Any team can use Lindholm. But the rangers aren’t moving laf. And cap wise just wouldn’t work going forward. Think he extends in Anaheim when it’s all said and done.

Yeah just what NYR need another $6,500,000+ Dman, Trouba at $8,000,000 and Fox at $9,500,000 aren't enough so they need Lindholm at between $6,500,000 to $7,000,000 on a 7 year deal. All the NYR need is to be in cap hell like Tampa, Toronto and Vegas.

Honestly i agree, I'm just being a little conservative here. Realistically probably minimally 7 x $7,500,000 if not 7 x $8,000,000 he's going to have major suitors if he hit free agency. And i feel that Yzerman could throw the brinks truck at him. LD for Detroit Lindholm, Edvinsson, Wallinder/Johansson Detroit could have a pretty formidable D core if we sign him.

Why are NYR adding a + on top of Laf for a rental because there will be no extension in place. No, there's no deal around that.
