1st team
Price Markov Weber Caufield Suzuki Koivu

2nd team
Theodore Hutson Subban Pacioretty Plekanec Kovalev

although i predict Hutson will overtake Markov on the 1st team in a few seasons, not that i think Markov wasn't great, Hutson is just that good

if Hutson can't be picked cus he doesn't have enough games played/sample size is too small, I'd do Hamrlik instead of Souray, very underrated Habs dman

As much as Kovalev was exciting on some nights.. I think Suzuki already is having a bigger impact, especially considering that he is spearheading a young rebuilding team as a very young man himself..

My first team would be the following:

Price Markov Weber Suzuki Plekanec Koivu

Edit: I think Markov Weber Koivu are all non controversial picks.. But I keep Plekanec on there. He was an absolute 2 way warrior. One of my favorite Hab!

2 centers on 1st team?

I would have:
Price Markov Subban Kovalev Koivu Pacioretty

I have Subban over Weber since Subban played for the team longer, won a Norris and his peak was just as good as Weber's.
Pacioretty instead of Plekanec because I just cannot leave out the best goalscorer in the last quarter century.
Rest does not require explanation.

Probably the worst forward group out of all 30 teams (excluding Seattle and Vegas).

Made a list before opening the thread and had 11 of those 12. The only difference was Hamrlik over Souray. Thinking some more on it, would have Gionta over Kovalev. Goaltenders were the easiest, two Hart trophy winners, believe the rest are deserving too.

Price - Weber - Subban - Kovalev - Suzuki - Koivu

Subban over Marky only because Subban's Norris year.

Pretty accurate, shows up when these type lists are made. The Habs have a hard time drafting forwards since the mid 1980's.

I’d love to try and sneak Zednik on there.

Those playoffs that piece of shit elbowed him he was leading the league in points and was an animal.

He had a 30 goal season after that but it wasn’t quite the same. I know some disagree there but I felt like he could’ve been better. Still loved him all in all.

But yeah doesn’t quite deserve to be there

Man what an insult to Subban, the guy who won a norris, gave his 110% every game for 7 straight years and was the best player on the ice in every playoff game.

Its so humiliating to the identity of the canadiens to put a guy like Weber who came here at such an old age and for bs reasons

You say you hate Bergevin and MT but every time you disrespect Subban you celebrate their incompetence.

Im disapointed in you habs fans, really disapointed.

Im white, its not a race thing. Its a habs thing. Subban was one of us. You let us down.

1st team

Caufield Suzuki Kovalev
Markov-Weber
Price

2nd team

Pacioretty Koivu Gallagher
Streit-Subban
Halak

Price - Markov - Subban - Pacioretty - Koivu - Suzuki

And I'm very tempted to replace Patches with Caufield.

Man, having Souray and Weber back there firing one-timers... Subban could really firw it, too. Same with Markov, but he didn't like to shoot.

Facing that squad in the playoffs and having to block their snapshots... you're losing players throughout the series.

Man I’m a Weber fan and I’m shocked lol.

For me it’s a toss up. If Weber didn’t have that final run where he went out like a warrior, I might go PK.

Weber was beyond broken and willed himself to lead our D corps to the Cup.

From what I heard, he was pretty damn broken when we got him. Still put up numbers while being a rock in his own end. PK on the other hand went out with a whimper. Looking pretty bad those last few seasons. Though not with us.

Weber to me was our best captain in a long time as well.

Honestly I’d probably just put PK with Weber on the 1st team. Would’ve loved to seen those 2 together. Or at least on the same team both being righties.

And honestly Markov was mostly underwhelming in the playoffs. Put his ass on the 2nd team lol

Subban was incredible in his final season in Montreal. He was a mid-season Norris favourite and put up 51pts in 68gp on a pathetic team. Remember the false controversy when he demurred about getting a goal? Are you really going to hold a broken vertebrae injury against him?

It's the Habs quarter century team, not the Preds or Devils. In every season in Montreal Subban was incredible, he led our team in points every playoffs too iirc.

Not sure if they plan doing this (haven’t followed) but it would be cool to get the first team to do a puck drop at the Bell Center.

Undebatable are Price-Markov-Koivu

From the 2012-2015 period, so that's like 4 seasons give or take, Subban was one of the best D in the NHL, probably among the top 3 or 4. That's a hell of a peak and it gets him on the first team all star easily.

Markov unfortunately lost his peak due to Grabovski being a little shit.

Hutson is tracking to be better than both, but he'll have to stay healthy for at least a few years.
