Really disappointing outcome. Adding a forward or two would have helped immensely at the deadline. They just had to get a few points and they'd be solidly in control of WC2, instead we've gotten a string of losses where they looked like complete ass. The team is crumbling under the pressure.

Losing to Carolina is one thing as the Habs are simply outmatched. Losing to the Flyers likely sealed our fate.

He's still our second best defenseman and the team collapses without him.

There is not a single player available by trade or free agency, or in our system or in the draft where we are likely to pick, who even projects as being at Matheson's level, warts and deficiencies and all.

Playing with 4 players would be better than having him on the ice.

He is not the 2nd best defenceman on the team. Guhle is far better than him. And Struble is too at this point.
