This is what players should say. If Management wants the tank, then they should manage their roster accordingly. Players don’t play to lose

No matter what you think about rebuilding, this absolutely has to be the mentality of the players, regardless of the talent level of the team. Can't have players quit before the season begins and half-ass everything.

Not to mention that the Golf Tournament represents the season kick off for the Montreal Canadiens, it's probably the one day of the year where optimism is at it's highest and frankly, it should be.
