Could possibly trade some to get a better spot espacially in the second rd.
About some 3rd and 4th rounder to get some mid 2rd pick.
Anaheim 3rd + Carolina 3rd + Rangers 4th pick for a mid second pick.?

pick value don’t work like the NFL.

sure you could trade montreal 2nd+ their 3rd and get in the 27-31 range. You can trade EDM 2nd+ a 3rd and move up 5 spots to target a player.
you can trade Calgary pick and MTL or EDM 2nd and move up some slots.
in all move ups it depends if talent is a gradual drop off or a cliff.

if the talent from say 23-40 is pretty even a team at 23 who doesn't have a must need would move down and take two bites in thus group instead of one And be willing to trade down. If there is a cliff at 24 they aren’t.
