I assume, Las Vegas really wants Gusev come to NA, but does want Gusev come to Las Vegas? And STL has a much better chance to convince Nikita to come, because they have Tarasenko, Barbashev and a solid organization. I think, they can even try to get Gusev as soon as at the start of the playoffs.

Kostin is a good prospect and a 1st rounder too, but he'll never be a player Gusev is. Still, he has some potential and can become a roster player in a year or two for Las Vegas.

Blues dont have much interest in moving Kostin. Our roster is missing a skilled power forward.

I like your proposal but I'm not a fan of Vegas or St Louis.

I was thinking the same thing. Rather Have kostin on the ELC. Also with Gusev being 26 years old how does that work is he on ELC as well?

So you're one of those, who would chose someone like Simmonds before someone like Panarin?
IN all honestly you need players like simmonds. Blues currently do not have a power forward, unless you consider maroon. On top of that Kostin is 19 years old gusev is 26. Kostin has been adapting to the NA game Gusev has not. Its def something to think about.

Yeah, but right now Gusev is much closer to Panarin's level, than Kostin to Simmond's...

Thats fine his numbers are good at the KHL level. We dont know if his small frame will translate to NHL. At this point its a gamble. especially if they cant resign him.

There is a huge age discrepency.

Why isnt he already here, STL isnt a better opportunity then LV. Heck, probably less opportunity.

Why does everyone think Tarasenko has a Russian dog whistle? Panarin is his best friend, yet he could care less to play with him.

Given his age, contract situation. It would not cost Kostin to get him

We'll give you an 8th round pick in 2030 on the hopes that the NHL has 8th round picks in 2030.

Vegas has essentially nothing in him but expect a top prospect.

This is wasted energy.

Gusev is not really an asset at this point. He's close to being a UFA, where he could get paid proper money right away, so he will probably just wait. No way STL trades a good prospect for that.

Vegas will get him to come over this year or the next.

It's in his best interest to showcase himself next year on an ELC rather than hope for a 6mx2 regular contract.
