Hanging with Brad Doty.
So what does DL do.... get your guess in now before July 1st.

  1. Trade a roster player for a roster player or picks?
  2. Sign UFA rentals?
  3. Nothing? Bring up the younger players from Ontario just so Sutter can bench them.

If you pick trade a roster player, would like to know who you think DL will give up on...
If you pick UFA...who gets picked up?
If you pick up Nothing...which youngster makes the team?

It would be interesting to see how this settles.....

We have our 2017 1st rounder so..

Let me see who some of the projected UFA rentals are.

Patrick Sharp?
Alexander Steen?
TJ Oshie?
Patrick Marleau?

how beautiful would it be for marleau to defect... play with carter like the beast line in olympics (put in that plug toffoli).

i mean i would love it more to have to see my sharks friends see marleau in black and silver.

I would take the shot at marleau over hartnell 100/100 times.

The Kings already had Marleau!

The Ottawa Senators have reached an agreement to send Dany Heatley to the San Jose Sharks, NHL sources told ESPN's John Buccigross.

The 28-year-old forward is set to be part of a three-team deal that would send the Sharks' Patrick Marleau to the Los Angeles Kings and the Kings' Alexander Frolov and Jarret Stoll to the Senators.

We likely bring in a mid level free agent that won't amount to much and fill the rest of the roster with kids.

That's about as much as we can expect, no? We have ~4m in cap space and didn't trade any of the "redundancies" during the draft, so they most likely will be here. Plus, I think Sutter and Lombardi like Clifford and King, and obviously Lewis, so I don't see them being traded. A mid level free agent is all we can reasonably expect.

A lot of dumpster diving guys!!
All I want is a top 4 D and maybe a 3rd line C...that's it not looking for blockbuster

4 million in cap space.

Needs:
Top Line Winger/Top 4 Defender/3rd Line Center

Possible:
Dowd or Gravel fill two of those needs.
King is traded for cap space.
Kempe blows management away at camp.

I don't think top tier free agents come to LA for 4-5 million.

Lee Stempniak/Matt Martin/Jamie McGinn/Alex Tanguay/David Perron/Ted Purcell/Michael Grabner/Radim Vrbata/Jiri Hudler - this is the range I suspect.

Probably will end up with Scott Gomez ;)

Nada, or a bottom six/third pair roster tweak, and that's okay. Lots of uncertainty around the expansion draft, and DL has been battered lately going outside the org. Hunker down, play your system.

Tough job with so many questions.

1. Brown - can he contribute enough long enough to make a buy-out feasible down the road
2. Gaborik - will he be healthy, if yes can he contribute
3. Greene - will he be health, if yes can he contribute
4. Dowd, Mersch, Gravel, Forbort
5. Wildcards - Amadio, Brodzinsky, Auger, Ladue
6. Kempe - can management be brutally honest with itself on his development as to when is he ready "enough"
7. Trade for "diamond in the rough" type players for Ontario that could boost Kings late in the season

We're all full up on overpaid, underperforming wingers.

I dunno. He's only 1 season removed from a 40-goal season. Plays PP/PK. 2 years left on a bloat contract. Like I said, if they retained enough, I'd probably be interested.

Nash had the same number of goals in the playoffs last year as Trevor Lewis. We need a defenseman, not another winger who shrivels up come playoffs. He just doesn't have that extra gear, and that money is needed elsewhere.

... and the same number as Carter, Kopitar.

... more than Toffoli, Pearson.

Using this year's offensive production as a metric to compare is terrible. EVERYONE "shriveled", NO ONE had that "extra gear".

I am often forced to watch HGTV with my wife, the people shopping for houses sometimes have very small budgets yet they want hardwood floors, granite counter tops, big yard etc.

I feel like a lot of you here are doing the same thing when it comes to the Kings and our limited shopping budget.

We aren't going to get a 25 goal scorer, who is a Sutter player, who has a great playoff reputation who is a great two way player on our budget.

This team is dumpster diving and looking to fill a hole, specifically the 20-25 goals that left with Lucic.

open concept, stainless steel appliances...

Dumpster dive.

Gonna go with this option as well.

This feels like the makings of the 2002 offseason, which had the Kings making the following transactions...

- Acquired Derek Armstrong from the New York Rangers for a 6th round pick
- Acquired Erik Rasmussen from the Buffalo Sabres for Adam Mair and a 5th round pick
- Signed Chris McAlpine
- Signed Brad Norton

We didn't call him Dumpster Diving Dave Taylor for no reason.
