I'd be ok with them doing another Hronek type trade for a player who is under team control beyond this season. Hopefully management has some irons in the fire.

Not sure if it’s a waste of time, you can’t be a p Eng if you don’t have a credited degree.
I think the most helpful course for me was design engineering. I think the issue with college is you end up taking a lot of classes that doesn’t do anything depending on the field you enter. Strangely the most useful course from my 1st degree is logic.

Of course. Teams think they can fix his defensive issues and he's (usually) a very effective player in the offensive zone. No other player on the team has scored goals and generated chances at 5v5 at the rate he has over the past 3 seasons despite playing down the lineup for the most part. He may take some bad penalties, but he draws more than he takes.
He's a good player who's had a bad month.

there absolutely needs to be a conversation between allvin and tocchet that goes something like,
“do you see a future for him here and are you willing to work with him and then give him opportunities to prove himself?”
and if the answer is no, then
“then you have to put him in positions to look good, cody hodgson style, to raise his value so we can move him for something you want”
I doubt they do anything until after the road trip and know Miller’s timeline.

A player under-performing his contract, and a 20th OA (estimated) 1st isn't going to get you a stud. It's going to get you a contract dump. And we don't want to take on much salary. We are finally not using LTIR to stay under the cap. You want a decent D-man to fill in for what Soucy was doing last year. We are going to have to add Lekk or Will to get a deal that improves our cap position. And I for one do not want to do that. Edit - Hogs is making $1.1M right now. So no trade is going to be cap viable. And once again people want to trade a player when his value is low.

As was stated today by Dahli on 650 the AHL dmen in the system and Willander will take 3 or 4 years to be NHL regulars/ready.
So with the emphasis on accuring cap space the team has to find a player with a cap hit of less than 1 mil.
Even if they trade Hoglander that leave less than 2 mil.
If they go for someone more expensive they would require the other team to retain and that would cost extra in sweeteners.
If that scenario did happen it is probably for a rental because of the cap crunch next season so wasting assets for nothing essentially or borrowing on tomorrow for temporary relief today.
With the constraints of the cap and roster figures that leaves Jiricek as the best option even if they trade tomorrow the assets they use can be reflected in that Jiricek will be around for awhile so not just thrown away.
Jiricek, like Necas wanted out because he knew he could play more and better, this also happened with Trouba. It was a failure with Dubois though.

Canucks do not think willander is 3 years away. If anything they probably will have him in the nhl once his ncaa season is over

You realize that Hoglander is making $1.1M right now. So trading him is not going to make any real difference to the salary cap, and would require a trade for a player making less and would barely move the needle.
And I don't think anyone is expecting willander to take 3 - 4 years before he has a spot. A lot are figuring he will be playing next year in some roll.
Schneider isn’t gonna be nearly enough value to get Miller, honestly the rangers don’t have the pieces anymore, Keandre Miller is about to get paid and might be another Darnell Nurse, Schneider I dunno he’s fine but not gonna get you Miller, Kakko is cooked, I don’t think they make a good trade partner IF Miller were to move
i doubt the rangers would move him but gabe perrault is an excellent prospect. a deal centered around him makes a lot of sense for vancouver if they move miller (which to me implies at least a little bit of a step back)

I don't get why any Miller stuff would drag into the regular season.
If this divide between him and EP still existed, and when I say exists, I mean to the point where it's actually this big problem rather than just two guys who don't get along, why wouldn't they have gotten out in front of it in the summer rather than taking this into the season?

yeah it would have to be a pretty convincing offer for us to even consider and thats even if Miller wants to go back to NY.
i wouldnt accept anything less than Perrault + roster player. this is not even considering trading Miller sends out a bad message to the group that the team has no clear objective.
Yes a team with cup aspirations trading their 1C in-season for a winger prospect makes a lot of sense.
Where is this Miller vs EP thing coming from? I highly doubt that Miller's current and EP's recent problems is due to some rift between them. The fact that they don't necessarily get along might not help but definitely not the cause.
If our 2025 1st round pick has been offered in a trade, I wonder if our 1st round pick just went up in value with Demko, Miller, and now Hronek expected to be out of the lineup for a while.
Miller started playing worse and had to take leave because seeing EP start to play better made him sad.
