I really don't know what Boston offers that makes any sense. Zacha is pretty underwhelming despite his very low caphit and I can't see the Bruins adding someone like Lohrei.

Maybe they'll retain on Lindholm or Zadorov? Not saying we'd want either back or that they actually would, but man would it be funny reading the main board responses.

I feel like at this point, even if some of these rumours are coming from front offices, probably most of it is smoke and mirrors as everyone postures to drive the price up for their rivals.

Yeah enough teams are interested I don’t see how Boston isn’t outbid, but that’s another reason the front office shouldn’t be in too much of a hurry, especially if there is just one bidder.

Hypothetically speaking cause it would never happen ...would you do JT Miller for Sidney Crosby?
Why stop at Sid, dream bigger my friend.

At this point we should encourage other GMs to just throw more to the rumor mill and get the GMs to feel FOMO.

This.

No combination of anything Boston can offer makes sense for Van.

NYR I could be ok with but Drury seems like a donkey.

Personal preference is for a deal with Dallas or NJ.

The other Lindholm...Hampus would be an almost perfect fit.

A retained Lindholm, despite the heavy disapproval here (I get it), is viable given the situation. They know him, and they tried to re-sign him. He provides the baseline of what they're looking for at 2C.

The key is getting BOS' 1st round pick alongside. That's the piece they use to make a long-term defender trade.

Obviously, a young 2C would be the ideal return, but that is unlikely.

There’s stuff on Boston that intrigue me but I fail to see a realistic way to put them together
I like their 1st but I don’t think mgmt is interested in picks.

I like Lohrei and Poitras but you still need to make the cap work.

Zacha is ok but he’s more a middle 6 C at best.

They maybe be open to move Carlo but he’s on a nice cap hit and would need to replace him.

No thanks to E Lindholm or Zadorov. That ship has sailed.

H Lindholm would be nice but he’d need to waive and Boston would need to replace him.

So really there’s not a perfect fit all round.

Management has to be after a 1st or a young 2C.

BOS allows for a 1st and a mid-aged (2 years younger than Miller) 2C.

Dreger was on Flamesnation radio implying that VAN was looking for a third team to flip futures to. That suggests that they will take a 1st if the next team is there to trade their 2C for that 1st.

Whenever I watch Boston play Lohrei is the best player on the ice. I would be absolutely astounded if he was available.
Yea if Lohrei is available, he would be a perfect 2LD to pair with Willander and our top 4 would look really good/balance (and young) going forward. But I also don't see Boston making him available. I would do JTM for Lohrei one for one.

Poitras is also an interesting target, not a 2C at the moment but has the potential to develop into one.

I'm looking at the rumored Rangers offer, and I'm not sure if Lafreniere is a good target even if NYR makes him available. His contract is pretty rich for a winger that hasn't drive a line in his D+5 season. Doesn't look like a good value contract unless he is at least a consistent 70 points player, and I'm not convinced he has it in him to get there. I don't see Rangers as a good trading partner.

I didn't think there would be a trade on a NHL special day.
The interview after, Miller didn't deny a trade coming, just his mindset.

Today the NFL playoffs, a good time to make a deal.
The reported NYR AGAIN stuff is starting to sound phony, like contrived by both teams to get their players playing better or else.

I am still of the thinking that both EP and Miller need to go but maybe for different but sound reason's.
Miller due to the baggage placed on him
EP because he isn't close to earning 11.6 million here and Allvin has already shown a lack of faith or commitment and a willingness to jettison him in public.

Both are damaged goods in this city now.

Where did this EP statement originate? Which Rogers or team employee or dependent contractor said that?AH, I see, third hand form the Canuck front office.
the 26-year-old Swede indicated to the Canucks’ front office
Hardly Pettersson saying anything, the front office when asked it Pettersson wanted a trade the answer would be, he has indicated he wants to stay. Indicated, not said that is a big difference. I like Vancouver could be an indication, I like fishing in False creek could be an indication, I like the Grouse grind are all indications that could have a" BUT" attached.

I am concerned that any trade with the NYR is a sideways move that doesn't help more than this year. Allvin seems so set on trying for a playoff spot now that he will pull a Benning. Which is coming close to meaning an Allvin, a really short sighted deal for what he wants, instant gratification.

His puck skills and transition game pop for a big guy but he's soft as butter and goals bleed in when he's on the ice, even in very soft minutes. Defensive fundamentals are not great.
I’ll caveat by saying I do not watch Boston much because I dislike Boston, so if he were available those issues would make sense considering he looks like a surefire #1 when I see him play.

With the puck he's legit. Without the puck he's very much a 3rd pairing guy who needs to be heavily sheltered.

He has 9 hits in 42 games this year which is actually insane for a 6'4 defender.
