i would have expected more empathy from a Finnish fan in the present circumstance

It's just that the French seem to have captured some magic in their home tournament. I like to see them succeed and bring attention to hockey in the Land of Gauls.
I'm not the biggest Fischer fan, but to be fair this match was very well played and prepared. It was a very undeserved loss.
The pp is still a big problem though, and that's on him.
Switzerland had the upper hand overall. They were way much more in control than us. We looked good in the first, the goal was still lucky but we really looked out of place on the two goals in the second.
This is really great. The win against Finland has been occulted by the presidential election on Sunday. They spoke quite a lot about it only this morning because of the game tonight against Switzerland. Going into a wining streak, on another upset, despite being dominated overall on the game is great.
Happy for Les Bleus, even if it would have been a loss, I thought they put a lot of effort in the game despite the technical mistakes, the Swiss were clearly superior in this domain.
This is great for staying one more year in the best division. If we go on a roll maybe another quaterfinal, the third in 25 years in France would be awesome to help grow the sport.
Fun fact I asked in a bar to put the game on one of all TVs in the bar. The guy accepted despite Monaco playing the semi-final of the Champions League. Monaco lost clearly and half of the bar was looking for hockey at the end of the game.

French team is a good one ... 3 NHL , 2 KHL , 4 NLA probably one or 2 in SEL, maybe a couple of DEL and Magnus ! respect.
I really hate playing France ... it is a latin team ... emotions .. catastrophes and miracles !! full of emotions. And against us they allways seem to be playing well and have the mojo.
