GDT: Group B - May 9 - Finland vs Denmark

I agree that your forward lines will absolutely make this a difficult night for our young and inexperienced defense.

Also Freddy Andersen is a legit Nhl top tier goalie, so no flukes expected for Finland like in the earlier games.

However I still don't see us losing this one. Finnish top forwards are better than their Danish counterparts and the Danish defense is a bit questionable apart from the few KHL guys. 3-1 or 4-2 for Finland.

Lots of respect for Denmark, but considering this year's team has already lost 4-0 to USA, and 7-1 to Canada, I am willing bet that Finland will win by 2 goals or more. 6-2 or 5-2 sounds realistic to me in Finland's favour.
 
Finland should win this by at least 5 goals.

Finland are an amazing team.. the forwards look good now for Denmark but our blueline is a disaster... lets get Eller and Ehlers and a completely New defence then we Got a chance against Finland. But ofcourse we can dream :nod:
 
Against Korea, Latvia and Norway it seemed like they just gave up after the game was 2-0 in the first period. That wont happen against Denmark in front of their home crowd.

Honestly, if I was the Denmark coach I'd play a stupidly aggressive pressing game for the first 5-10 minutes and try to score the first goal. Get the crowd hyped and add pressure towards the untested and young Finnish defense (and goalie as Husso seems to play tonight).

Im expecting the Danes coming with force in the first 10 minutes of the game. Could be a very even game now that Danish team is stronger than in other competitions.
 
Is the by any chance anyone named Fredriksen in the Danish Ice-Hockey Association tangled with the organization of the event or something?
 
Good kill..Yep..the boys are definitely ready to go.

Im not saying we are winning this but if you guys were thinking this is going to be like the other small teams, you are wrong....this will require hard work for the fins...We have a lot for width that we used to have.

We have quality and experience on all four lines now.

Danes, please whine about this dj. Only like 3 songs get played. Its actually killing some of emotion already, not funny anymore, just Pejorative Slured
 
It's nice to play against a decent team for the first time. Infact, looking at the rosters, I think they are pretty even although we have a slight advantage with the NHL forwards.
