What a weird match. Fins clearly better the first 30 mins and we were clearly better the last 30 mins. Both teams have a lot to think about imo.

Okay. Is this really a melt down of Atlanta proportions a la Finland of the 80s and 90s. Nostalgic, harrowing, beautiful, elegiac. - Silencio.

3-0 -> 3-3 and a shootout loss. **** me sideways. This tournament is not looking good at all for us.

Hey my Finnish friends, take it with humor .... after yesterday France , today ... unlucky loss.

Some days are rainy ...others are sunny ! that's life.

I write this down with sincere sympathy. I know how it feels.

Nice come back Czechs !! respect.

It's funny because this match was very similar to that one prior to the WHC in Ceske Budejovice. We need to work on those first periods because it's been horrible so far.

The Czechs surely desrve this win, but it's annoying for finnish supporter to see losing again and again games after a 3 goal lead, though the second finnish goal was a very lucky one.

Finland is ridiculous. I don't understand why players like Lajunen, Osala, Kemppainen, Pyörälä are so freaking high in hierarchy in the team. We benched Puljujarvi in last 10 minutes of 3rd period, and instead played these guys who didn't do anything in the entire game.

Per interview: Marjamäki seems to think playing 2 periods of purely pk-style hockey is a good idea. /facepalm

I still think we can win this game if we regroup. We make too many mistakes but the goals were very lucky (2 major deflections). Even though were down 0:3 I still think were having more of the game.

Hats off. I didnt expect it. Props to Jandac for such a massive changes.

3 on 3 is disrespectful to national teams though...

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, but okay.

This is on Finland. The trip stings and stuff, but they should've kept the lead.

Yeah no doubt about that. I actually feel bad for the Finns. Neverless I still think the quarterfinal is a lock for Finland.. you'll do just fine, believe me.

It's been his style forever. Sometimes he even tried to play 0-0 hockey for full 60 minutes.

They were in our D zone and could have scored but instead Filppula chose to run like a b. Thats whats up.

Well, I think Czech didn't deserve to win either. Playing Hollywood to get Filppula in the penalty box.

Why would you want to play that game?

Congrats on the win to other czechs.

This exactly. He is a disgrace of a coach. I saw this already during his last season with Kärpät. Absolutely horrible handbreak hockey with that team also. What saved him then was that Kärpät had clearly the best material in FEL that season. Even despite that he managed to ruin their chances to win it all with his horrible handbreak hockey.

Well, ok I admit that he also got defeated by Patrik Laine pretty much. But his stupid play style gave Tappara and Laine exactly the chance to take the initiative and get enough of scoring chances. And as we know, a fired up Laine doesn't need too many of chances to make you pay.

His hockey is just so incredible passive and slow, and it lets the opponent take the initiative most of the game. Finland never did really well with this passive playing style. His way of speaking about the game is also so passive and lethargic that if he is the same way with his players, it's no wonder why his teams are such a frozen bunch most of the game and in every game. I had no kind of trust in his team today even when they were leading after the first period with three goals. I was exactly afraid that it will be the ultra passive and flegmatic bs that it after all was.

I'm really starting to hope that Finland goes at least close to relegation, because I'm seriously afraid that if they still manage to get to the quarter finals, then Marjamäki might get after all the chance to continue as the coach to the olympics. And by no means should he be let to ruin that tournament for us. Please God, don't let him be our coach in the olympics... :shakehead

Unless they scored the three goals on that powerplay, I don't think it was that.

If you don't turtle, you won't get beaten because of losing the composition if/when the turtle starts breaking.

The main problem was not the call on Filppula. Finland stopped playing hockey in the 3rd, similar to Czech performance in the 1st.
