I think that this is as good of a game for this gif as any:

Dear god the Frenchman with Le Tricolore, oui, un mille times, oui!

If it needed this to get Jesse to play, it was totally worth it.

This, ladies and gentleman, is exactly why some Finns steer the **** away from this tournament. The lack of passion is unacceptable under any circumstances, no matter who you're playing against. What the hell did you come to play for?

That's questionable. Finland is our kryptonite

Who knows man, but this time around if they meet, Russia will take it. Finland has a chance to go deep in the skoda cup with good coaching, good leadership and defensive play. Not looking like Finland has any of those right now.

Finland has a chance against any team in this tournament. Their chance against Russia might be only about 30 percent, whereas it was somewhere around 40 a year ago. But it's still a decent chance.

We've seen these knee-jerk reactions before. In 2014 Finland lost to Latvia in the opening game and people thought the tournament was over. They went to the final. It's not likely they'll make it to the final this time, but it's far from impossible.

Yes but 2014 was very lucky! Thanks to Swiss. They won vs Latvia in last game altough it was about nothing more(for Swiss).

Ye. They played some horrible games that year.

Lost 3-2 to Latvia. 3-1 to USA. 4-2 to Russia. Beat Belarus only 2-0 and Kazakhstan 4-3.

Beat Switzerland 3-2 in a shootout. But you'll notice they never got blown out. They lost at most by 2 goals. Anyways, getting blown out by France 5-1 is disgusting. And sure, anything can happen. I'm hoping for the best but prepared for the worst.

Lmao what an overreaction. It's just a one game. If the whole tournament goes badly then yes kick Marjamaki and get someone else for olympics. It's not like Jalonen's road to gold was all smooth sailing.

Congratz for France a blowout win. Finland has never lost this badly in Football against France.

Marjamäki was terrible in World Cup as well. Fire his ass, now. Not to mention all those EHT games. He should have been fired long time ago.

This can be easily explained in two words: First is Pekka. And the second is Rinne.

The skaters didn't really get their act together in that tournament before the final round.

No he shouldn't have, because under normal circumstances nobody wouldn't really care about what happened in the World Cup or the EHT. But now they suddenly make a convenient excuse to spew some hot fire in his way in a told-you-so manner.

It's this tournament that defines his career as an NT coach. If the result here is bad, then he shouldn't be excused.

People really need to take a chill pill here. This was the lowest of the low, but instead of going into "fire 'em all" mode, now is the time to see if the team and management learned anything from this. Because you can't get a more harsh wake-up call than this.

But if it looks like they didn't, then the situation may truly be hopeless.

#1 People do care about World Cup.

#2 EHT might not be that important but you are still supposed to not completely embarrass your country. Finland hasn't done so poorly in, what, 40 years?

#3 If they actually cared about this tournament, they would have taken a hint and replaced him. There's no point in allowing him to coach for this tournament as well if we already know it's going to go terribly. This too could have been a year for Finland to actually compete.

People cared about the World Cup really? You mean that little tournament where they had those two gimmicky team Europe and North America? :sarcasm:

People suddenly care about the World Cup because it makes a nice convenient excuse to bash the coach some more.

And this is not to say the coach shouldn't be bashed, but he should be bashed based on what happens two weeks from now, if need be. Not what happened last August or in a bunch of meaningless games over the season.

- If I am a surgeon and kill a patient during an operation, I got fired and maybe go to jail
- If I am an architect and my construction falls down cause negligent design...I got fired
- If I am a chemist, and put the wrong compound in a medicine...I got fired
- If I am a judge and put an innocent in prison I won't get fired but would get filed
- If I am a pilot and my plane crashes, I got fired (If I survive the accident)

- If I am the head coach of one of the main hockey nations, and my team loses 5-1 against one of the (improving) but lesser teams, after being consistently underperforming...what I should expect?

Do you follow the logics?
