Thought you guys would smoke Belarus

Nah. Finns were clearly better, but belarus is not a bad team. Good system and some key players.

Finland had a bad play behind the net and a weird bouns which lead to a goal against, the game picture would have been different without that.

... Really?

If we win vs Belarus by less than 5 goals it's just plain embarrassing.

At this point Finland's lucky to win this match because it might be the only thing saving them from relegation. I see no hope vs any decent hockey country that forechecks at all and that's not unbelievably slow. Heck, Belarus even is the perfect opponent for Finland's system and Finland still almost managed to lose. Take Slovenia for example, I see them as the favorite vs Finland.

I disagree,belarus was bad,finland was bad,less bad won here,
...fortunately,it was finns whom were the less bad.

I'm glad my country won this one,but this is as good as it gets
in these worlds, theres no improvement in sight for us,
weve played like this since World Cup.

While upsets are still less common than not, these tier 2 countries have had all the tools to keep these games close for nearly a decade now. It's kinda hilarious we still have people around who are disappointed if it isn't a blowout.

It's a W to the scoresheet and the wagon moves on.

Our talent said no.
It's European team this year.

You have 1st line from the NHL, starting goalie from North America & talented young defenseman who will be soon core piece of Dallas Stars' defense. + Puljujarvi...

It's not last year's team, but still far away from European team.

Refreshing to see virtually native Belarussian team.
If they needed someone to assist Osala's goal I wish they better took some young belarusian instead of 36 year old canadian. With all due respect to Linglet I don't understand what he is for in the team.

Indeed. It is extremely hilarious. Even more hilarious is that the same people then go on to treat these kind of games as some sort of indicator for how the rest of the tournament progresses.

Not a good game by us but win is a win :handclap: Imo Rantanen and Aho were really good in this.

why linglet?
i'd blame that huge defense (cater)pillar evenko - what an awkward and slow dude he is - for letting osala sneak past him so easily! a big guy over 2 m tall should play tough physical game crushing his opponents instead of letting them to prime scoring areas!

Giving a blind pass behind your back in your own zone is not a very smart idea when playing against such team as Finland. Especially when you are experienced player and meant to be a team leader. Especially when you address your pass to Yevenko :)

Rantanen and Aho were really impressive out there ! Sucked that Pulju didn't see any ice time and I was happy to see Julius Honka out there: he seems like he could turn out great for Dallas ; I found him to be pretty solid out there, especially when it came to walking the blue-line in the offensive zone.

You need to give more credit to Belarus. We have beaten them by more than 5 goals ONCE in the history of mankind, 2002 Olympics. [MOD]
