This is where these teams need to bring their best. They knew they would not compete for top honors. Survival is the key at this point.

I'm going to be bold and tell you that none of these two teams are getting relegated. It's just a matter of placement and IIHF rankings now pretty much.

It's weird. We've had the lion's share of the chances. I feel like we're the better team. And their goal was a bit of a flukey one-timer that Starkbaum would have stopped if he was any good. I keep feeling we will score, but it hasn't happened yet.

Norway is the only team to score on Russia in the tournament.

And you are surprised Norway scores on Austria? :teach:

I could say something about sample size, probability, timing about actually observing game events...or let a silly remark be just that...

Martin Quendler posted the stat that we're leading possession by a 63-37 margin. But possession doesn't matter when you're not putting pucks in the back of the net, and we're not doing that.

Well, you just did.

I was about to say, but I got held up here, so I didn't get to post...

What I wanted to say, was I don't think I've been watching the same game as your stat-guys. Norway is way better. Of course, it's 4 -2 now.

The first goal was a one-timer off the faceoff. The second was a bounce off of Schneider's foot which fell to your guy. The third was a bounce of Unterweger's stick which fell to your guy. The last was a 6v5. None of those involved any serious amount of puck possession except the delayed penalty 6v5, which is the metric being discussed. You did have some long possession in the late 2nd and early 3rd, but I don't think the possession stats aren't reflective of what I've seen.

Well, just beat Italy then. I think that's the plan for the teams in this group.

Pretty entertaining game actually, we just can't finish.

Hat trick by Christian Bull is really funny. Hannes Biedermann pointed out that in his 27 career international games he only had 1 assist, and he was let go by his Allsvenskan team in Sweden 2 years ago in part for only posting 3 points in 37 games, but gets a hat trick today. Anything can happen.
