It was more fun when first brought in and players didn't really know how to treat it so there were chances galore.

Exactly. Now when teams are better prepared, it's just a battle of possession. Players circle around the offensive, but because the defensive players just keep their passing options down and the offensive team has to avoid any mistakes, the teams just take a few circles in the offensive zone and then give the puck away safely. I wonder if there are stats on the effect the change has had, e.g whether more games end in OT rather than in SO.

Rantanen has been so good.

He is in fact pretty bad defensively. But otherwise I'm starting to like him again. I was already getting quite pessmistic about his certain lack of intensity and finishing skills. He is pretty strong and very good with his puck protection. He has definitely developed during last year. He just needs to get better defensively and a bit more experience from playing against top players in the world and he might after all become the star player that I was already doubting he would really become. I will gladly admit that it is starting to look like I have been wrong about him. He still needs to seriously fix his defensive game though.

Instead of Filppula, Marjamäki should suck I mean thank Säteri. He was the real hero here and probably saved Marjamäki's contract.

Audience voted Korpisalo the best player. If the subtle hint to stop the stupid audience participating shenanigans only went through.

I agree he has a tendency to lose his man in the defensive zone. Offensively he is an absolute bull near the boards, and his playmaking is great. You shouldn't doubt his finishing ability either, just watch some of his goals in the NHL. I feel like the ice hasn't been very good, you see a lot of players falling over all the time and a lot of whiffs.

I wouldn't be too worried. He's a forward, it takes time for his defensive side to develop. He'll become a star.

No, it's Ylilauta.

I don't care who's my champion, if the cause only gets proceeded. If I wanted to hear any stupid morons' social media opinions about the game, I'd find a hockey forum from the netz and sign up to there.

I did watch him play in about 30 games in the NHL this season. I also watched all his 20 goals separately. His season has exactly made me doubt his finishing skills less. He is also excellent with redirecting the puck as we saw again today. I just hope he can really fix his defensive game.

With him, Aho, Laine, hopefully Puljujärvi and even Borgström and the upcoming kids from the U18 team, and also the more experienced forwards like Granlund, Barkov and Teräväinen I can see Finland having a very bright future in hockey in a few years. Especially as it seems that we are having several very promising defencemen coming up (Risto, Vatanen and Lindell already and Juolevi, Heiskanen, Välimäki, Vaakanainen, Jokiharju and Salo coming up).

We will just need to get rid of Marjamäki and get Karri Kivi, Jukka Jalonen or Erkka Westerlund to coach our national team. Marjamäki will make it very difficult or even impossible to do well, even how good players we will have playing for his national team.

With this coach? Almost certainly. With a coach like Westerlund or J.Jalonen I wouldn't be so sure, even with this average roster we have this year.

Russia will be scared to play Finland, so they will lose to USA :sarcasm:

Then we will beat USA in the qf. All good boys! :amazed:

The best answer to these stupid advertizements posing as polls is to just troll them. I approve.

somewhere i feel their is a type of similar pattern in the faith of the Finns and ours.
We are brothers ;-)

Like giving up leads, loosing to France.
today was strinking ...

2 goals, pull the goalie after 7 minutes and 2 goals.
the new goalie remains virgin.
equalizer in the 3rd tier.
win in the OT.

Hopefully we beat the Czechs tomorrow.

I saw this pattern somewhere.
(don't worry ! Finnish team is still better than Swizerland !! ;-) )

You guys were used to podiums lately ... and now comes a Swiss guys telling you that we have the same destiny. ... not exactly ... but patterns are similar ... really.
and somewhere you also will have your guys with psychological troubles ... doing nothing during games ... )

Your mental rollercoasters and the rollercoasters of your team remembers me really a nation who's name starts with Sw and that is not neighbor.

Filppula deserved to be the hero tonight! What a fighter and leader. He makes Aho even better than he already is. Rantanen did a huge game as well. Finally some real success for these guys.

At this point it doesn't matter anymore, but just in case anybody wondered about the first goal of Switzerland. No offside.
