My impression was that Bellemare was just taking faceoffs but actually playing wing, but I trust you on that one!

I'd like to see France advance, so I don't mind if we lose points today.

Come on, lol. We need points, too. Switzerland will be tough opponent for the last game.

If we depend on these points against France, we have no shot at the medal anyway. I think we have to beat Switzerland if we want to compete against the best teams.

Expecting a tight game.. Actually any win in regulation would be great, I'd even take a win in OT.. France is playing really tough, haven't lost by more than one goal to any team so far and this will be a super important game for them

Was really hoping that France would advance but that basically means that France would need to snatch some points today unless Finland and Norway both fail miserably.

No, that's not what I meant. We should win both games, if we want to compete for medals and we need good position for QF. France will have to bring everything that they have to beat us in this game. I am looking forward to it. This team is not going to underestimate them, that's obvious.

And I love France, too.

Well, relying on a win against the Swiss could be tricky. God knows how I hate these Cze-Swi games.. It is always the same thing.. just conquering their defence with no productivity whatsoever (and actually with not even that many QUALITY scoring chances) when eventually few Switzerland's breakaways decide the game. So boring and frustrating at the same time.
On the other hand, I'm pretty confident that in the play-offs we can be very well competitive against even Russia or Sweden.

Being second in the group would be actually worse than being third as the third-ranked team will presumably face the US while the second-ranked team would face the more challenging Sweden.

this. I do not think Sweden is our favorite opponent for Q's. But by trying to choose, it is the best way to lose...

Choosing between USA and Sweden about who to play in QF? That's stupid, if you ask me. This USA team is freaking fast & immensely talented, when the game will be on the line, against tough opponent, they will bring their A game.

I will rather go to QF on a winning note and as a confident team.

Well a "good position for QF" was what you wanted.

This. Who cares who we gonna challenge in the next rounds. Even if a loss meant facing Germany and a win facing Canada. Just go out and win games.

Yes, and I still want it, finishing 2nd in the group is better than finishing 3rd, who gives a ****, if it's USA or Sweden in the QF, 2 top nations, doesn't really matter who we will play. We will be ready for either one, and I believe in our team. It's a very good team, or better to say... a team that can challange anyone in 1 game.

I just hope our coach won't make a "shutdown" line like he did against norways 1st line, that was really dumb... We have the better players here, if all lines give it their 100% we win, if we give anything but our 100% its pretty much anyones game as France is indeed playing great in this tournament.

Anyway, can't wait for this one. there is no game better in stage group. than against France in Paris.

edit - kind of stormy weather in Prague. How is it in Paris ?

Going by the quality of the players, we should win very easily. But France is playing better than sum of its parts, while our team has been lackluster. Any win would be welcome today.
