Is it just this year or is it a tendency for the future as well? Are Hossa, Gaborik, Chara etc done for Slovakia?

Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Well, there are some good young players (see our this year's U18 team), but it's just not enough. As for Hossa, Gaborik and Chara, I think they are done. Maybe the last chance is 2019, as we are the host country, but I think it's unlikely.
Chara is 40 and pretty much done, same for Hossa (38).
There's still a chance Gaborik will come a few times in the future.
Players like Tatar, Jurco, Panik, Hrivik, Viedensky are probably the best we can field right now.
This may even be the time to think about the nightmare scenario that you get demoted and don't advance next year... You would have to organize elite division championship without the home team in 2019.
What is so talented on that dannish team compare to Slovaks (except Ehlers)?
If you are organizing next year you are protected this year, but thats it... I think iihf would make you organize without you (well thats what i heard anyway)

If me and Jakub are right and there *is* and auto-promotion for the organizers, I offer my services as the head coach for the next year.

I see but to be honest they dont look they are in some great shape. Slovkas should be able do something imo.

Well i heard it specifically from the czech TV commentary (in the ČT internet stream). this is just rumors ofc, but they said the slovak hockey association has started asking questions about this and this is the answer they got...
On a side note i think automatically demoting/promoting last/first teams from divisions is ********. In order to assure that the 16 best teams are actually playing in every tournament there should be a small tourney with the two best from division I and two worst from the elite division (with the best two advancing/staying in the elite division).

We are not in good shape at all. Most of our A-team has declined or is out with injuries. And we dont have anything to play for as we cant get relegated and lost the first game to Latvia. If we win against Slovakia tonight we might have a shot for a quarterfinal though

Injured, he would have made the team for sure and he would have been the best D-man.

Its actually quite sad, i grew up watching hockey and always saw Slovakia as "one of the big boys". So tell me slovakians, is it the federations fault, the coaches? What the hell went wrong in these last 7-8 years?
