Not much to take from this game. Nice patience from Marner. Good effort by the Slovenians to get a goal, wouldn't be shocked by another.

Slovenia showing some good things, they'll do well vs Finland.

MacKinnon at left wing, Le Sigh. I firmly believe he's better as a C than a RW, but LW is probably the worst spot to play him.

Surely he's a better C option than injured and slow-as-molasses Giroux, or Brayden Point?

Nathan Mackinnon is a mutant. He's a monster on the boards and his speed up and down the wall is ridiculous. Most Avs fans like me will tell you he's better on the wing than down the middle. He's certainly not bad at Centre. He's good defensively, good on draws and good down low. But I just think his skill set is better suited on the boards. If you look at his production he has always succeeded most with high IQ centers such as Stastny, Grigorenko, ROR and RNH at the WC last year.

no, not much.

but a few players are disappointing so far and need to step it up.

Mack and the junior line are looking good.

Its not confirmed info but somebody said that attendace is so far higher thanin Prague 2015. Interesting

Anyway not a bad game by Slovenia. Shame they dont have better goalie and depth.

It thanks to Cologne fans, it looks like it's a great hockey city.

Well, we dont have depth obviously. How can we have it with 141 male players and 7 rinks, and from those 7 only 2 or 3 are normal. Goalie? He won us a chance to play this year after last years division I title and won us olympic qualification tournament. So its not fair to judge him based on these 2 games. Yes, he had a bad game against Switzerland, and Canada is Canada, he made some great saves nevertheless.

Nope. I was in Prague. Prague had more. Prague seats 17k was sold out for nearly all Canadian games. Only 9k at the game today

Only saw the highlights but the Barrie, Mack, and Marner goals were filthy.

Slovenia obviously looked very overmatched especially without Kopitar.

Got back from the game. Amazing to see Mackinnon be that dominant out there on the ice. On top it all, I was sporting his jersey :D. His 3rd goal on the PP was incredible !!! :yo: And Marner was filthy too (his goal was beautiful).

Really disappointed in the atmosphere at the stadium. 9,100 people in attendance and just an underwhelming amount of enthusiasm from the crowd. People just don't get hockey in France. Sometimes I wish I was back in the US where even a regular season game in the NHL would have a million times more enthusiasm and general excitement. Sucks. I mean, I felt bad for Team Canada. All those NHL players have probably never experienced anything like it.

My whole section was dead silent throughout the entire game (even at the beginning). Nobody chats to each other. It kind of ruins it. At least that my opinion. That's what I get for having been to all of those Avalanche games at Pepsi Center when I was small.
