Will be a tight game I think.

I don't know about that. Sweden isn't really a country Germany has performed well against in the past. There was a close game in 2015, but in general Sweden tends to have just the right mix to counter the German style, even if Germany has a perfect game.

its not really about style, its about the fact that we are much better.

So? Russia, Canada, USA, Czech Republic and Finland are also much better than Germany, but against most of them I always feel like there is a small chance for an upset and we have seen it happen, but against Sweden and to a lesser extent Finland we rarely see even a close game.

I don't think those teams all belong in the same tier tbh. Beating Canada or Sweden would be way more of a major upset than beating the USA again was.

Well Germany got confidence after beating a pretty good USA team and you are playing at home in front of your fans i think you will give us a a good match

They crowd is certainly a bonus. Maybe they'll surprise me.

Yes right! Sweden and Finland are bogey Teams for Germany. Last win in official Game vs Sweden before 25 Years and vs Finland 24 Years. Scandinaviens are cruel for Germany.

As others have already mentioned, you completely missed the point.

There are plenty of teams that are far better than Germany, yet there is a huge difference between how Germany fares against all these. Sweden just happens to be a team whose style more or less prevents Germany from achieving an upset. Even when Germany is playing perfectly and Sweden isn't getting much done, the way they play just happens to line up perfectly to counter Germany. Sweden has suffered the odd upset against nations similar to Germany, but not against Germany itself. At the same time, Germany has managed to beat the Americans three times in the recent past and even managed a victory against Russia a few years ago.

That was the entire point, Germany hasn't been able to upset Sweden or Finland in a very long time, while nations of similar caliber have done so. At the same time, Germany has been able to get upsets against other big nations. This hints at the German style being capable of occasionally upsetting big nations that play a certain way, but not those who play like Sweden does. In other words: a free-flowing high-energy offense is easier to upset or keep close for Germany than methodical play.

Don't think this is going to be close. Sweden's D seems to be the best core at this years WC, if Germany doesn't get blown out, i'll be happy.

Think the same. With Ehrhoff and especially Draisaitl i would see a little chance.
Both dont play so i think it will be a easy win for Sweden.

Ehrhoff wasn't something special in the DEL this Year.

To be honest don't think that this will game be close. Sweden is too good and "hockeywise" on another planet as Germany. I can't even remember the last win for Germany ...

Nylander showing some skill

Willy is such a treat to watch, just can't root against this guy even though he plays for the opponent for a change.
