Looking forward to getting this started.

Sweden for the W. but in a nail biter. make the final 4-3.

If there is some logic, we should win this one.

The last six games. They took the last one, so we should get this one.

And if we look at the past 18 games, it's also a split 9-9.
9-9-0 for Sweden and 9-6-3 for Russia.

Sweden-Russia has been a really good matchup in the last few years, your KHLers and our much improved European guys. I think you have a really good record in the World Champs over us, though.

Fasth in net? This could go either way. I can't see that he is a better goalie now than a couple of years back.

If a team plays agressively and dumps the puck in and goes for long shots he is still vulnerable against decent/good teams.

Läck should be in net for games like this, then Sweden would have an advantage, quite a big one.

Why are the Sweden forwards so bad? Seems like lots of guys decided not to come this year?

It's the exact opposite, a lot of guys decided to come this year.

Only 'old' players refused. Henrik & Daniel Sedin, Zetterberg, Eriksson, Kronwall... Nyquist is injured, I think. Not sure about Wennberg, whether he refused or is injured.

Except for maybe one heave offensive weapon missing it looks stronger than other years.

Oh ok, that is good then. Thanks for correcting me. I haven't paid much attention to Worlds lately.

This is what I meant. They seem to be missing the big names/older guys on the team. I guess it is time to bring in the new era. Excited to see Eriksson Ek and of course Willy.

The Sweden D is so strong, as always. Will be interesting to see how Russia tries to attack them.

Russia has terrific young offense, and Provorov on the blueline. Overall, this team is so young, I am looking forward to this game and Team Russia through the tournament, hopefully we'll see Canada v Russia. Would be awesome if Tarasenko / Malkin / Ovechkin / Kuznetsov joined this group. Someone will very likely join.

Zetterberg, Sedins, Kronwall, Eriksson.... Not a big deal for me, not a big loss. Time to move on from these players. I will rather watch these 'new', young Swedish forwards...as you said...Nylander, Eriksson Ek, W.Karlsson, Lindholm, Landeskog. Too bad that there is not Lindblom as it would great to watch him from the Flyers fan perspective.

True and on the other end of the line: A good heap of good Swedish forwards are still in the play-offs. I expect at least 2 quality forwards to emerge to the national team after the second round.
