Game is too soon. Is there any chance that USA players can be a bit sleepy and Denmark will steal some points? If I were a fisherman and met goldfish who gave me a three wishes, one of them I'd definitely use for this danish team to beat USA and another two for Germany and Canada.

Fantastic backhand sauce by Jack Hughes. Nice to see him get on the board, great entry and patience by Eichel as well and a quick finish by Kreider. That was a great play.

4-0 first period against denmark who blew out great britain by 9-0, while USA only won against GB with 6-3

Yeah nothing makes sense.

Goals not really representative of the game imo.

1 from a weird call to make it a pp.

And 2 very soft goals.

Plus Denmark has had their chances.

Bet coach Ehlers is furious.

Has he even played a shift? I don't recall seeing him but tbh i am a little preoccupied and game is on in background

He is on Eichel's line playing in Johhny Gaudreau spot for this game. So he will see plenty of ice time today and in a prime position and hey look at that he has a great assist.

Glad to see some of our Finnish fans didn't learn a ******* thing from the Laine and Matthews debate. I mean as a USA hockey fan I hope it doesn't go any better, but I am a little stunned that a bunch of posters didn't learn being an ******* about a #1 and #2 debate only makes them look bad when the scouting consensus does pan out better and you have pretended the guy sucks... Oh well.

Delay of game isn't a weird call. You cannot clear your bench glass in your own zone or it is a delay penalty.

I agree that wasn't the best stuff out of the USA, especially the start. I remain a little uninspired by how Team USA is playing in this tournament, but they are just way to talented for the bottom feeders because of what they have up front.

That’s mainly on GB - they saw Denmark as a game where they could compete and so moved away from the all out defense they’ve emloyed against the better teams. Obviously it didn’t go so well.

Looks like USA are finally starting to find some chemistry here.

He got it for a delaying the faceoff.

How do you explain Germany then?

The Brits must have thought Germany was one of the teams they had a chance against?
Yet they played a very defense first game.

The USA plays Germany tomorrow so I am confused by the question in terms of him saying the USA plays with more structure against teams they take more seriously. Not that I am sure that is the case. My problem with this USA team is that they are still having lulls for periods of time where they just aren't playing to their ability as a group.
