Oh my God the idiot just paired Ekholm with that useless ****ing ********** Fransson.

Sweden would be the underdog vs both Canada and Finland while being a huge favorite vs Germany.

Sweden has to win.

We can always hope that the work ethic in team russia is sub-par this game. I don't think they really care who they face in the QF's. Confidence is high among a lot of the Russian players.

If Russia is in fact confident of a win, there is no good reason for it yet. Teams they have beaten are a level below Sweden, and Sweden always plays Russia to the edge. Russia should accomplish something notable before becoming confident.

Teammates this season...

Washington: Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Orlov / Burakovsky
Detroit: Datsyuk, Marchenko / Nyquist
Columbus: Bobrovsky / Wennberg
Chicago: Panarin / Gustafsson (#56)
New Jersey: Kalinin / Larsson

CSKA Moscow: Telegin, Zaitsev, Lyubimov, Sorokin / Fasth

Sweden barely has a chance this match and how the hell can MÃ¥rts pair up Ekholm with the useless Fransson he must be ******** no wonder why everybody decline playing under him

I expect a rout. Alot of bad players on the team, a bad coach, they don't skate well, they don't pass well, they do nothing well against the opposition, regardless who they face. The offense is uneven, the defense is shaky as hell and the goalies are alright. That's not enough to win against Russia, a country that has a majority of the NHL players accepting a WHC invitation. In Sweden's case it's almost none. A solid Russian team against Sweden's C team shouldn't be a question who will win.

As to Fransson, I didn't understand what was so great about him even in Luleå. He never hits the net, isn't that good with the puck and isn't that great in his own end.

He is living proof that, if you're a gifted enough skater you can fool people that you're a good hockey player even though it should be pretty obvious that you suck ***

you do realize though before the Caps players came, it was the weakest Russian team in ages?

Where is Sergei Mozyakin ?? Did not play the last game either. I guess the Russian wants to win this one

So? It's still the weakest Swedish team in ages. You at least got Datsyuk and Bobrovsky, we got Backlund and Markström. After the Caps for Sweden, it's still the weakest team in ages, since every frigging Cap but Burakovsky declined. Just like everyone else.
