Russia made it easy for the USA in the second period. Two easy, tap in goals after lazy, stupid turnovers by Namestnikov and Provorov. The last one gave the US a huge emotional lift - as if they just wait around a Russian will set them up.

They look very casual. I don't know why.

On German TV they said, that the Russian team brought their own guy to make Russian announcements in the arena and that he really energized the fans prior to the game.

Not sure if that is standard procedure for them.

In fact, it's the German organization that decided to bring a Russian announcer to the tournament because they know a lot of Russian will attend games.

And to speak about the game, we gifted the 3nd and 3rd goal to the USA.

I agree their deffence on the last 2 goals was so bad did you see the look at Znaroks face on the last one? What the hell :)

Well and entertaining game but for some reason i feel the Russian is not giving it all

Have to say Russias goal number 2 was a beaty by Andronov who was behind that goal..that kind of players is what we need...

I dont really care for who wins here just not get anybody hurt and i also think this is good for Russia to finish of playing a good team and not just crusing game after game winning and then have to face a good team in the quarter.
Kuzy with a goal in the 3 :)

I probably misinterpreted that part. They said "the Russians are the only team who has their own announcer" (paraphrasing) as if he came as part of the team.

It's a good decision no matter who made it.

Apparently they did it all tournament long. Makes for long announcements because they do them in 3 languages. The crowd in the arena is crazy, you can't even hear the US Fans. Such a fun game! Totally worth coming to Cologne for.

Are there any US fans out there ?

I wish I was there. :( Today was the day I wanted to go. To see both Russia and Germany play, but not each other (hence being able to root for both).

That slew-foot was the most dangerous thing I've seen in this game....no call of course.

Russians have **** for brains today. Oh well. Plenty of hockey still to play in this tournament.
