Wtf? Why did the Ref congratulate the goal scorer? Don't think I've ever seen that. Was a nice goal but what was that?

Merzlikins rebound control could be better. Two big ones against USA. Now two right on the stick of the opp today.

At least Germany showed an energetic shift right after goal, demonstrating they're not rattled.

The most impressive moment for me by now was Sprukts talking to the goalie after the second German goal. Seemed he swore he'd personally tie this game. Wow.

There was actually a stick under his legs ... not from the guy who got the penalty though, it was from the second Latvian who was there.

I just rewatched it. You're right...the stick from another guy was there but it's hart to see whether that really caused him to fall or not. At least there was contact but to me, it looks suspiciously spectacular. I still say he absolutely sold that one:laugh:

huh, there was a pretty clear offside (like 15cm) before that first German goal... The commentators on Czech TV just showed it...

True. That comes as a suprise.
The reffing could really be better this championship.

So true. Sprukts has redeemed himself in my eyes.

The question is - how in the world didn't Hartley or Daugavins think of turning to the refs, even if slightly unsure.

Zone entry? I thought the puck left the zone once but it may not.
How come Hartley didn't work the refs to look at it? He's usually pretty good at it.

Honestly I'm glad they allowed that offside goal, that opened up the game and made it a lot more fun for me as a viewer :yo:

Germany should at least shoot one more goal, just to avoid discussions. I still think that the german lead isn't undeserved though.
