Yeah, he's going to be a damn slick player, that's for sure. He's so good at finding space with the puck and knows how to move without it. Add to that some really good skating and great hands and you have a really promising player, that is going to be ridiculous in his prime.

He's like Michael Nylander v3.0.

Wouldn't 3.0 be Alex?

Edit: never mind I get it lol

Well, while i think he will be better than his father, but 3.0? M Nylander was a pretty good player, I think you are underestimating how good M Nylander was.

If he plays with matthews all season, I think he puts up 80 points next year. If he gets moved to full time C, and plays with decent players such as 1 of JVR/Marner/Kapanen I think he will get 60-65 points as he learns to adjust to that role. Either way though I definitely see him as a ppg player through his prime.

Yeah, I know Michael was really slick as well and how special his style was (I watched the Rangers during his NYR years, he was a great compliment to Jagr and Straka, one of the best lines in the league, probably the best). What I meant was he's like his father (no kidding, since he has coached him all the way), only with a better shot, better skating and quite a bit better defense.

To be fair the one thing Sweden has actually practiced this year is the PK.

Maybe so, but not getting in a single shot on goal during over 1 minute of 5-3 is just pathetic. They have sucked big time during the last ten games though, so wouldnt rate the swedish PK based only on this game.

The two best swedish playmakers are also the two best swedish snipers

This team is like William Nylander - high skill, low to nonexistent effort.

lol alright:

Mike Babcock recently said:
Willy’s got great edges and great understanding of the game, but the most impressive thing about what Willy is doing is he’s competing way harder. He’s better without the puck. He’s more competitive each and every night. So, he’s becoming a more complete player, which obviously makes us a better team.

&

In fairness to Willy, his shot and his hands and his skating and his edges are second to none. The competitiveness, I wasn’t sure of. To see him elevate in that way was good.

Don't mind posters here talking about apparent lack of Effort on Nylander. Doubt they have seen him more than a handful of games this season. If that.

He backchecks just as hard as anyone out there, smarter than most of them while at it. Kind of like Marner...

Seriously Ehlers is really talented happy for Denmark, but Brodin and OEL can't play like that.. ever.

And Söderberg needs to be scratched that's it.

Yeah, I bet we have some hobby psychologists in here because they see him chew on his mouthguard and not smiling much on his goals. Never too high, never too low, that's how you keep focus in a game and he shows how it's done.

Söderberg has looked awful, agreed. His confidence is zero, he doesn't do anything out there. Just bench him. Ekman-Larsson has always been kind of shaky on big ice IMO. I think they have had a hard time adjusting to a big rink.

Ehlers and Nylander was great. Sweden was a bit meh, bt not bad, the Danes is a decent team, they play hard and got some skilled players. One day they will win a game against Sweden.

I don't completely agree on OEL the last time he played for Sweden in the world championships he was leading the defense both offensively and defensively he was the leader the team was looking too I think part of the fact that he is struggling now is due to there being so many other good defensemen on the team first and foremost Victor Hedman who right now is being given the role OEL is used to. He's the kind of player that thrives on being the go-to guy.

Omark for everberg. Nordström for söderberg plz

Honestly I thought everberg was good today he's big, fast, gritty and not unskilled he was one of the few guys to give a **** today

Now sure what's wrong with Söderberg but he has always giving me an impression of being a very emotional guy, maybe something is not good right now.

The coach seriously need to talk to him.

When at his best he is super smooth, reminding me a bit of Sundin, when off his game he is terrible.

I know right? For like half a season in Boston he looked like Malkin with worse skating which is still pretty damn good
