France is playing at home. A bit different, even a ****** team will show up for their home game.

Canada will make the finals. Hard to say if they will win, 2-3 good teams in the tournament.

USA will make the semis IMO if they get an easy QF, don't see them beat any of Russia, Sweden or Canada in elimination rounds.
 
If Latvia misses quarterfinals Merzlikins should be marked as persona non-grata in Latvia. Oh God am I pissed...

While I hope that will be the case they can absolutely still lose against Russia or Sweden (more likely) in a semi.

I don't see Canada beating Russia nor Sweden.

Yep. One of the most frustrating players to watch.
 
Well, Elvis needs to give it back by locking it against Russia or Germany.

Every year we have one stellar goalie performance which won us a game.

Still haven't seen it this year.
 
Only postitive thing is that this US team wont quit. They came back from behind three times against Sweden and now they again took victory somehow. Everything else they have to improve.

France has 1,5 lines. Rest isn't even anywhere near the average quality of the players present at this tournament. Yet still Canada failed to get anything going. You can say whatever you want but that had more to do with Barrie than the French homecrowd. France did look awful against Belarus and should have lost the game.
Tyson Barrie did it all for this Canadian team. Canada beat the Czechs 4-1 but you really shouldn't overrate easy wins against Slovenia or Belarus. Canada still has to prove they can play without Barrie.

Merziklins was very good so far. He didn't look sharp today but that's probably because he played every single minute until now. Every other goalie got a break at some point.
I really didn't understand why Hartley didn't play Punnenovs or Kalnins vs Italy.

This one really hurts. Latvia deserved to win this just like the Sweden game. Bad luck but they may have won it with a rested Merzlikins.

Pretty harsh. France beat Finland and also play really well against Canada. You can underestimate them but they also beat your Switzerland. I think they have some players who have some decent offers from decent leagues after this tournament. And yesterday Belarus was well rested when France have to play hard game against Canada before yesterday match.

Not harsh, just realistic.
This Swiss team has a pathetic coaching staff. And with all but one NHL players and several others missing it's also the worst Swiss team we've seen in years. You know you're in serious trouble if you fail to beat this team with a healthy margin. Expect a blowout tonight or you know that Canada is in trouble without Barrie. I still think they will need Parayko to step up big time. They have great shut down defenders but apart from that Lee guy they don't seem to be very active.
