In the previous 13 WCh games against Sweden is 1W-1T-(2OT)-11L, GF:GA 19:57, shutouts 0:1.

Totals are 22 GP, 2W-1T-(3OT)-19L, GF:GA 35:98, shutouts 0:2.

And Team Latvia in 133 games in WCh has scored 340 goals and let 399 goals against.

So there could be 20th goals scored against Sweden in WCh and there will be 400th goal against in WCh history and could be 100th goal against Sweden in total.

Blueger/Blugers is one of the bigger surprises of the tournament for Team Latvia. He's been very solid so far. Reads the game very well, doesn't look like it's his first World Champs at all. Just mature decision making on the ice, solid all around player. Isn't overly physical, but covers the ice well.

Too bad he's been put on our 4th line with pretty bad linemates. Since we're winning games, the coach hasn't changed the lines, but he should be rising up the ranks as the tournament goes along.

Personally, I think he should be assigned to our PP unit with the playmakinh skills he has. He's not being used efficiently with a bunch of wooden-handed bums playing alongside him.

Blugers is a surprise? To whom? If for you then it's coolcool I guess.

Gabe! So strong on the puck and by the boards.

And thank you for changing the goal song, no more "mamma mia". :handclap:

Willie should have had 3 assists so far in this game. So good.
He is so slick with the puck it's ridiculous. He just zig zags, with speed, out of practically any situation. He's an excellent passer and his shot is really good too.

He's easily the most raw skilled player on this team. Nylander is like the old Michael Nylander v3.0. He's going to be real good at his peak.

I'm pleasantly surprised about our 1st line - seems like almost whenever they are on ice the are in attacking zone.
Pretty even game so far, despite result so far, I can surely say swedes are not looking so unbeatable today. definitely not what I expected.

Elvis needs to carry us in one of the next three games..

Tonight he already let in a lousy one. If he stays solid from now on.. We have a chance.

I'm liking the game so far from our guys, apart from 3-4 defensive lapses, which resulted in high quality chances for the Swedes.

We could've score a couple of times. We're playing real tight, with a lot of energy and speed. Too bad it's not humanly possible to keep this up for an hour of hockey.

Latvia has definitely raised their game. The distance between the big nations and the underdogs is getting smaller and I love it. Upsets are always possible and the big dogs have to give 100% to win.

When you have a goalie named Elvis, you are good to go. No more Kazakstan bunker hockey, all teams actually try to play to win and that's the way to go.

Just finished watching the first (watching the CAN game as well, bless you YouTube pause feature).

Either Latvia has no idea how to pick up the trailer or Nylander is just amazing. Honestly think he had 5 passes to the trailer who was able to walk in and shoot from a prime area. Complete clinic.

Lol Wikegård. "It's hard to get the puck to the net when there are 25-30 latvian legs in the way"
